IMO, these types of stat comparisons are dumb and disingenuous. Let me take the last 6 games where we were 2-4 and compare it to Mason's last 6 games. Why these six games? Why not the first three? I am not saying that there is reason to believe in Nuno yet, or that there ever will be, but these types of stats over such a short run are just anecdotes for proving what you think already. Yes, we've been boring and awful, but I don't think anyone coming into this season thought we would be doing much better than sixth place, which is where we are. I'm hopeful but not optimistic that with more training time and time together we do improve, but to declare this a failure at this point also doesn't make a lot of sense.
Interesting lineup. Bergwyjn and Gil as the wingers with Kane up top. I don’t think we’ve seen that combo before.
Kane/Berg/Gil were on the field together for 54 minutes v Rennes but Gil was playing LM with Berg ahead of him at LW. Could be interesting seeing them on the front lines. It is a rarer combo since Gil isn’t quite trusted for PL matches and it’s hard to displace Son from the front line of course.
On the positive, signs of life from Lo Celso. Great ball. Hasn’t been a lot of reason to feel good about him this season.
The good news about the overall state of the team is I knew I could step away to make my sandwich for lunch and I wouldn’t miss anything.
This team has no energy at all. Lucas provided a bit of a spark when he came on. But we look like we’re just going through the motions.
Bergwijn has no strategy to prevent his passes from being blocked. It’s obvious what is going to happen each time and he does nothing to try to create space for his crosses.
Lo Celso was done running for the day, so it's good he's coming off. Hojbjerg yelling at Ndombele (and Kane, I think too)
