Man anytime I have this conversation with people about deleting their facebook people are just nonresponsive. hate this
It’s impossible to convey the sense of contentedness I have in not being on that platform. I wish I could convince more people to just take the plunge.
Once it’s gone you quickly realize you don’t need it. It’s an addiction, all social media is. You’re trying to convince people to stop doing a drug they don’t see as harmful. Even people who claim they done use it much refuse to delete it..

I've started talking people into just deleting the app from their phones and tablets. Keep the account, but only access it from a computer. Its amazing how just doing that will break a lot of people from the addiction.
I have not had any type of social media for 10 years and I don’t watch the news. I know about whatever pops up on TMB. It’s great.
Deactivated FB 2 weeks ago. Probably deleting altogether. stayed on IG for work and family but should get off that too
I have already decided that as soon as I migrate all my desirable old photos from fb onto a storage device, I am getting rid of it. Pretty excited honestly. Instagram will be harder to do.
Deleted Facebook 4 years ago and don’t even think about it anymore. Never had a WhatsApp. Still on Instagram tho
I still have it but literally can’t access it to delete. I took the plunge and stopped using it after the election in 2016. Did that for 6+ months and loved it. Got rid of the app, everything. I go to delete it and can’t remember my password, the password recovery is sent to my college email that hasn’t existed since, like, 2009. The amount of loopholes I’d have to jump through to gain back my access was incredible so it just sits unused in Mark’s ‘Metaverse.’ I get slightly annoyed I’m 1 of his numbers but enjoy the fuck out of never having it around. It’s so fucking nice not to be on.
Fuck WhatsApp. Get Signal. It's so much better anyways. Deleted my FB in 2012, had a IG I used a fake email to make that got banned in 2015. Deleted WhatsApp in 2017. I'm completely free of Facebook products. Do I get likes for such behavior?
On Android there was an app called Barinsta that let you browse IG without an account. Of course IG hit them with a cease and desist with the quickness. I'd imagine something else will pop up shortly.
I only have FB to share memes with my friends across the country and to see what concerts are coming. All other parts are trash
In a perfect world people would stop using Facebook but in a real world scenario people like seeing pictures of some relative they don't get to see very often or pictures of their grandkids and I have a hard time blaming individual users. It's not like there's really any other options and if there were it would be some other corporation that might be slightly less grotesque. This is basically an ethical consumption argument.
I deactivated just now after years of FOMOing myself out of doing it. I didn’t delete because I use messenger quite a bit and trying to reestablish groups on another platform seems like a hassle.
Deleted FB years ago and never used IG. Over here WhatsApp is ubiquitous though and almost as mandatory as a smart phone itself. Literally everybody has it and it's all they use. Not sure I could delete it.
same, my family is all in Mexico and that’s all they use so I need to keep whatsapp…….. ur deleting FB 2 years ago was a great decision
