Went to Helen once with friends. It was fucking terrible. I'm not sure if that part of the river was just really low when we went, or how it normally is, but the entire river was like 6 inches deep and literally everyone got stuck constantly. It was infinitely worse than doing it on the hooch at 285
I was thrown into a beaver damn and nearly lost both eyes. Turned at last minute and had minor cuts on side/back of my head. I hate to imagine what those sticks would have done to eyeballs.
I only got one text this go around and I’m stupid I didn’t even put two and two together that there were elections.
Friend of mine played peachtree yesterday and justin timberlake was in the group ahead of them. Talk about a tuesday.
I like the idea of Mick Jagger taking a golden hour, touristy pic on the Jackson Street bridge with roughly two dozen other people around
Connector shut down due to a wreck right before my on ramp. Looked like a ghost town getting through it this morning
Don’t play golf, but went there for Father’s Day or Mother’s Day one year. It was the only time I’ve been. Anyway, their clubhouse is literally the oldest building in Atlanta since Sherman used it as his HQ when he was burning down the city.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_oldest_structures_in_Atlanta Shockingly, the Peachtree club house is not on this list.
I’ve forgotten a ton about the war of northern aggression but you have to think Sherman kept a safe distance while burning Atlanta to the ground
That's what they told me while I was there, so I had to look it up to make sure I wasn't crazy you gaslighting motherfuckers. https://warwashere.com/category/the-battle-of-atlanta/ Now the clubhouse for the Peachtree Golf Club, the Samuel House Plantation was a landmark for the advancing Federals. Cox’s 3rd Division of the General Schofield’s 23rd Corps, Army of the Ohio, camped here on the plantation grounds. General Schofield, along with General Sherman were accompanying the Division, made their Headquarters here.
How big was Atlanta in 1865? Seems like a big place to burn to the ground. Columbia SC was mostly burned. Only the campus survived
Anyone been to Lazy Betty? Trying to find a restaurant for a holiday dinner on my company. Usually do KRS for nicer expensive meals, but apparently they are fully booked. Might have a party that night. It's $175 a person for an 8 course menu, no alcohol
Anniversary is coming up and trying to grab dinner at Hiyakawa. Has anyone been? I’ve heard it’s good, but how in the world can you make a reservation? Is there a specific time window at the beginning of each week or something?
This seems pretty cool.. https://www.axios.com/local/atlanta/2021/11/16/putting-atlanta-rap-on-the-map
Anyone been to big boss Chinese? Looks really good. https://instagram.com/bigbosschinese?utm_medium=copy_link
wonder why it got archived need to start a new public Georgia thread so we can get trolled when we lose the SECCG, and for food/beer stuff.
Saw that creature comforts has been having them for every home game. That's a nice situation for beer and bbq enthusiasts.
Checking out the Chinese lantern festival at the zoo Saturday night. Hoping for gigantic animal lanterns my kid will love.
