He’s got to adjust the blue print next year or it’s over. This rag tag bullshit isn’t going to work. The majority of the roster seems to buy in but the lack of running a real offense/having a PG combined with getting out rebounded by 20+ a game. Not the answer.
If you don’t believe in Tom selling his soul to the devil you are either an idiot or an atheist. (I’m an atheist and I’m questioning everything)
You are my farm prince, but I am not out here giving an actual shit about volleyball. A win vs Creighton or Iowa football would bring me more joy, even in the empty seasons we are in, than a volleyball national championship.
Can you guys chill? This is Nebrasketball for Pete Rickett’s sake. Of course we’re not good, but calling for Fred’s job is just silly. A big part of his wholesale roster changes from year to year is it takes a bit of time to figure out how the pieces fit together. I’m confident Verge will be moved away from the point and the offense will end up more fluid. (I’m less confident we have a hope inside the lane though)
is it really ridiculous? He’s 5-34 in the B1G. This team looks no better than the past 2 years. Regardless you want to see progress year to year and it’s simply not there.
I don’t totally disagree but IMO you can’t sacrifice the first 4-6 weeks of the season every year because you want to flip 8+ roster spots every year. We’ll never be good enough to make up for the early Ls in the B10. I do think there’s finally some young talent that you can build around plus adding on next years class, but I just the Verge experiment doesn’t cost us a ton of games along with pissing off some of the young talent on the roster.
I’m guilty of getting excited about some of the transfers and I definitely think they CAN work and are worth a risk most of time time but also have to remember there’s sometimes a reason these guys flamed out at a previous spot.
About to roll into work with a bunch of Creighton fans. Hopefully they just don’t even realize I’m a Nebrasketball guy.
If they don’t know you are a Nebrasketball guy the chat is taking a second L to Creighton in as many days.
I normally work in a different office, so these guys don’t usually get to hear me asking out loud how we lose to Western Illinois.
The defense on switches was really bad. One really cringe moment was when Wilhelm went to hedge at the top of the key and instead ran straight into the ball handler. I still like his effort, but he needs to learn the speed of the game is a lot quicker than high school. Game was frustrating to watch, but the fact that we made a comeback to make it close, while missing so many shots is still nice to see. It's kind of like what Fred said after the Colorado game. They look amazing when they make every shot, but on nights when they aren't making shots, they have to figure out a way to win. They didn't do that last night unfortunately. Verge needs to pass the ball. Too many times he dribbles for ever, does a step back then misses off the front of the rim. Trey would drive to the rim and kick it out. It's so much easier to catch and shoot when the ball is coming from in front of you vs. from the side like Verge does after dribbling at the top of the key for 15 seconds.
I was guessing this was it when he came out with teary eyes. I wonder if he'll come back next year then? Sucks his brother will be gone.
Hard to loook good when the PG doesn't get you the ball. There were a couple times he was on the wing with a defender 10 ft off him and Verge would NOT pass him the ball. It blew my mind. The wife had to tell me to stop screaming at Verge and to stop calling all of Creighton players/fans predators/child ra****/etc
He tweeted out he hopes to be back by B10 play. Someone claimed it’s usually a six week injury but who knows how he’ll feel when he’s “healed”.
I swear we were shooting like 15% in the first 10 minutes of the game. Just couldn’t overcome that disaster of a start.
I don't think he's up for this kind of career suicide. He's young. He could still prolly get an NFL position coaching job again and start his career progression over again.
I didn't know who he was, but that was a really interesting article on him. Sounds like LSU hates him. https://www.theadvocate.com/baton_rouge/sports/lsu/article_0dd8fde0-51ed-11eb-bc54-9376b3019058.html
