He got COVID in June of 2020, long before vaccines were available, and was in the hospital for 4 months. He was in rehab and on oxygen since then. As the vaccine became available he posted MANY anti-vaxx posts throughout 2021 but they really ramped up in the last couple of months. Together, those three ingredients have created a toxic stew of malevolent death and devastation. We can talk about all those things in the abstract, look at the numbers and statistics, and catch the occasional whiff of seditionist right-wing rhetoric. But I hadn’t really fully understood just how horrifying that combination of right-wing extremism, Facebook, and a killer virus was until I became a regular at the Herman Cain Awards subreddit. This series will document some of those stories, so we are aware of what the other side is doing to our country. Today’s cautionary tale features the actual owner of an anti-vaxx Facebook group. Spoiler The vast vast vast majority of hospitalized are unvaccinated. The vast majority of unvaccinated are Republicans. The highest current COVID caseloads are in Trump counties. It’s called “extrapolation.” No one is asking a patient who they voted for. Their actions tell the story. It’s a veritable roundtable of Fox News deplorables! Dr. Bruce Boros MD, 71, Key West, FL. Cardiologist, anti-vaxxer, "seriously ill" with COVID. According to this article Bruce is at home but seriously ill from COVID. Bruce is one of the most vocal anti-vaxx medical doctors in the world. He also appears to be THE leader in the push for using Ivermectin against COVID (at least self proclaimed). In fact, he recently attended the Florida COVID Summit on Nov 6, at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala, Fl, where he and others were pushing Ivermectin. According to the article, at this summit, he claimed, "I have been on ivermectin for 16 months, my wife and I, I've never felt healthier in my life!" and then got sick with COVID two days later. Apparently, so did six other doctors who attended. As a doctor, he'll surely get monoclonal antibodies and be fine but then claim it was the Ivermectin. There are so many anti-vaxx, pro-Ivermectin posts on this guy's Facebook page that it's overwhelming. Pushing these things seems to be his only job these days. Had to run to the grocery store yesterday morning, and as I’m pulling back into my driveway I see this mid 60’s lady with her dog in my front yard, and her dog is grunting out a turd on my lawn. No big deal, I have two dogs, but as she sees me pull into my driveway, she just walks away and doesn’t pick up her dogs shit. So I wander into my front yard to confirm she didn’t pick it up, she’s about a hundred yards down the street. I yelled out in a nice tone “Excuse me, ma’am, it looks like you forgot to pick up after your dog.” Her response was, “I didn’t see it!” First of all, there’s only one place shit comes out of a dog and I watched her zoom in like the Hubble telescope on her dogs ass while he shit on my lawn.
