Was hoping PSG was going to win today so we didn’t have a chance to face them in the round of 16 but alas
The Anfield Wrap post game show is 4 of their women contributors and Elvis Costello listening in. Which is a nice flex.
I didn't get to watch at all today because I was traveling. How did ox play? I'm starting to get hopeful that he can keep the form we saw against arsenal.
Even though he had one or two nice plays, he looked a lot more like bad Ox yesterday. Porto pressed pretty consistently, and he didn’t handle it as well as I would have liked. I was hoping to see him improve, but I think he regressed a bit.
Disagree a bit. He didn’t produce much offensively but he put in a shift defensively and has several key sprints and recoveries that could have turned dangerous if not for him. I though both his defensive effort and Taki’s positioning were tactical decisions by Klopp to try and protect Morton. Konate tried to undo all that work 2 or 3 times though. He has got work to do.
Agree on those two recoveries - he did play some decent defense. I haven’t seen a heat map, but Ox was not moving as I had hoped. I mean, carrying the ball forward is kind of his thing, but he just wasn’t able to do so, nor was he able to beat their press with the pass. Plus, every one of his corners was poor. Konate was a liability.
It was Rio giving commentary on Mo with regard to his form and the Porto goal "Could you imagine being Mo? You go home and your kid asks you if you scored and you say 'yeah I buried a guy tonight. Just put him right on the floor in the kop end. Put him down. Then smashed it into the bottom corner.' must be incredible to be him right now"
I understand that defense wins championships. But what if we just score 200 goals and see what happens.
I can’t believe Southampton haven’t changed anything up. We look like we’re going to score every time we touch the ball
