Anybody had any lucky with these mini docking stations? Genki https://www.genkithings.com/products/covert-dock TopVelo Kiwihome USA
maybe a dumb question, but is there any 'lag' when playing from memory card over the built in storage? mine is almost full, so about time to start looking at options.
Diamond/Pearl remake combo snagged from Costco for $98 or so, plus a code for 200 poke balls (can’t put a price on that). About $20 off the Nintendo store price, although physical cartridge in case you dislike that.
You have to use the switch charger still I think. There is a chip or something in it that the switch will look for I believe. Used to use a dongle to hook up to my TV but it would only work if I used the OEM switch charger
Has anyone gotten the oled switch? Thoughts? daughter has taken over my OG switch so thinking about getting one
Honestly, besides the larger screen, I haven’t noticed major differences. I do appreciate the larger screen though.
Got my kids a Switch for Christmas. So far we've got Mario Kart, Smash Bros, Mario Odyssey, Mario World 3D/Bowser's Fury, and Zelda Breath of the Wild. Any other must have games for either the kids or myself?
Thanks. Yeah I'm plenty happy with Mario World 3D. Zelda makes me want to take a month off work and spend all my time playing it.
Don’t overlook a couple of good games just good for quick things. Clubhouse Games for example is actually pretty great. Mario Tennis is solid. Golf Story is great. I’m sure someone can chime in on whatever Pokémon is out. and Hades is amazing. Available on other consoles now but was on switch first
I loved golf story, was sad when the whatever indy studio canned the sequel. Golf story was a very good “I’m going to play for 20 min before I roll over and sleep” type of game
It's def overpriced but being able to easily (if very imperfectly) fire up Ocarina of Time is pretty amazing.
It works. The retro folks are not a fan of the emulation and the uniqueness of the N64 controller makes it a bit difficult (and I haven't gotten my hands on the Switch N64 controller) but you get used to it. I also haven't played either N64 Zelda in 20 years so it's like playing a brand new game.
I’ve enjoyed it so far, there are game mechanics that I’m unfamiliar with so I must not have played the originals. Still saving my poke energy for the upcoming Arceus release. Harvesting and planting berries takes way too many clicks, I will say. And cooking the berries into puffins is fuckin haaard.
I too decided to hold out for Arceus. Rather play something new than another of their half-baked remakes.
Ive been playing a lot of paper mario lately which has been enjoyable (I never played it when it was originally on n64) so mostly just that and ocarina so far, but Id say worth it for me.
I forget a lot of the costs from the Mirror in the bedroom that you spend purple stuff on. But Death Defiance is a big one obviously. Check the special sale in the Lounge after each time you die, can often get some good stuff. Hand out nectar and ambrosia like it’s candy. Cosmetics are lowest priority to buy from the construction crew. Pet the dog.
Cthonic keys are important early on. Focus on getting weapons unlocked and, especially early on, use the weapon with the glowing purple shit so you get the bonus. Follow the doorway to the Daedalus hammer when it’s an option and pretty much always go through the chaos gateways.
Completely spaced this. I went to Walmart at like 2230 and picked up diamond. I played red/blue and then tried crystal then never kept up with them till sword. So I figured I have more than enough energy for all
not sure if theres a dead cells thread but recently picked it up and fuck me this is an unforgiving game makes hades seem easy
Has anyone played The Gardens Between? I usually don’t buy these smaller downloads but it looks interesting. have been shy to finish Metroid cause I don’t want it to end. Also picked up Skyward Sword so imma start on that here with 3 weeks off after our first child arrives.
See FIFA 22 is also on sale for $20 at the online shop but I remember reading that it sucks. Feel free to chime in on that front. Haven’t purchased a FIFA since 2018, would consider if it’s marginally better
Never played but all I've ever read is that the switch versions are awful and the core game is unchanged for like 4 years now or something.
That was my impression as well. I don’t mind the switch version but it’s not amazing either. Looks like I’ll pass.
