The Kind of getting the vibe that TBL is reading his own news clippings and making some shit up. The Stoops as an alternative option does have some legs. But this story sounds very fishy.
Any chance the Panthers relieve Rhule of his duties given his interest in taking over the LSU program?
Feldman reporting position coach hires for UConn at the height of coaching search season. Mora/UConn are going to battle Fisch/Arizona for the most information about a completely irrelevant topic for the next year or two.
Shea Dixon Sunday morning update Spoiler Here are some tidbits to pass along. *** I told you guys this past week to approach this search with caution, because Scott Woodward has not let anything slip out of note. And I still believe that to be the case. I can look back at what I shared from a trusted source telling me midweek (after all the Riley smoke really started) that fans were latching onto stuff that simply wasn't matching the moves being made behind the scenes. And I now believe that even more after speaking to a source on Sunday, which is the same one that said Lincoln wasn't in the spot on Woodward's list that many were presuming. I can tell you with some confidence that early on, LSU did reach out to Riley, but I also don't believe those talks lasted very long. Lincoln wasn't interested in leaving, and if he does leave Norman, even people on the OU side said it would be for an NFL HC job, not another college job. I now absolutely believe that to be true. You are talking about two of the most respected AD's in America in Woodward and Joe Castiglione. Those guys aren't going to sit around going through some back-and-forth for weeks at a time. It's just not how things operate. Lincoln's statement at his press conference last night was short and to the point. And you can take him at his word on it. I don't believe this to be a situation where a coach says one thing at the podium only to turn and leave. I do not expect Riley to be the next head coach. And I don't believe there was any expectation of that from Woodward's end. This was one of those situations where the fanbase took some internet reports and ran with them as fact. I will continue to caution anyone on taking that approach in this search... *** I will maintain that I don't expect anything to be announced on LSU's end today (Sunday). This has nothing to do with Lincoln Riley, and it's the same thing I told you guys last week. I have no idea who the next head coach will be, but I do know that my source on this has not wavered on the timeline and the low likelihood that we would hear something publicly from LSU today. *** Let me repeat. I don't know who the true target is for Woodward. We said from the very start that Woodward's plan here was to keep the discussion to only himself and a couple other people, and they've pulled it off. I can tell you that even high-level boosters and people typically in the know (who aren't the type to run to message boards or even have accounts online) tell me that Woodward hasn't and isn't telling them anything. When they inquire, they aren't getting names. And they can respect that approach. Again, don't go buying into all the buzz of the past week. There wasn't suddenly leaks coming out from Woodward's office after nobody could get anything for 6 weeks. Looking back, it was like a bad game of telephone spreading through a fanbase that's hungry for a big hire to be named and was ready to latch onto anything they could get. And we saw how that played out. *** Perhaps as the next few days come and go, I am able to get something concrete on a timeline for an announcement or even who it might be. But I'm not there yet, and I'm not going to trust anyone for intel on this minus one or two sources out there. And right now, they still aren't going to give up what they know. I'm not going to come here and pretend that I know who it is. What I can say is that if you want to melt, then that's your right as a fan. But I would suggest saving that until after you know who the next head coach is. Until then, you are just putting yourself through unnecessary headaches because you're convincing yourself that Woodward has struck out. We have no way of knowing that to be true. If you're asking me what I think, I would presume that if he is out duck hunting this past week and all smiles on the sidelines during and after the game, then he's got a plan in place. If a new hire is announced and you guys don't like it, it stings. If it's a home run, you are elated. But there's no reason to start reacting now to a result that remains an unknown.
His successor there was Tracy Claeys, and he got fired after his first full season after a sexual assault/PR disaster. That tweet/quote is dated one day after Claeys was fired.
word around VT is there's a done deal with someone so if a national writer catches a leak, that's probably the guy.
it's not really difficult when someone wants to coach at your school and any half-assed offer would secure them lol.
Don’t fuck this up, Trojans. Heupel is ready to come home and America is ready for the Vols to enter the chat.
