Bob Stoops raided Bill Snyder’s staff in 1998 when they were on the verge of a national championship and then won a national championship with said staff two years later. I assume these OU guys were just as upset at this impropriety then
What I’m hearing from a BIG TIME booster is that Riley was putting critical race theory pamphlets in the books at the campus library when he should’ve been working on the defense!!!
Gosh all this is just reminding me there aren’t many loyalties in paid sports. Uh, duh. The melt down posts are choice.
So Stoops just walks from any remaining Fox responsibilities to be the interim coach. What a specific provision to likely have, but definitely handy.
They’re all hurt because some of these guys were Bob’s guys, but Grinch most certainly was not and wasn’t good enough to care about losing based not only on what he did against our shit teams, but also against beastly teams like KU, Tulane, TCU and KState. Maybe they want him to stick around for Venables to be announced so he can fire him. Guess they’ll have to find a new OL coach to teach holding, but that shouldn’t be hard. They can just retread any of our last 4. NFI about their WR coach, but I can’t blame a position coach for not wanting to stick round to wait for the next guy to decide his fate.
Whole lotta hush hush happening. And people from rusty rural Midwest/southern towns talking about how horrible it would be to live in California are a life long fascination of mine.
FWIW it’s being reported in a few places that he only stayed in that team meeting for a couple of minutes. So this is somewhat corroborated.
College is more demanding because you have year-round recruiting and managing 18-22 year olds. I have a friend that’s a D1 coach and he’s just trying to work his way up the ladder to eventually land an NFL job. Says it would be a dream compared to college
I’m guessing with his Oklahoman sensibilities he literally means drown. Likely when California falls into the Pacific Ocean. Either from its own doing or from the wrath of his almighty.
