Have to say the update really helped weapons feel a lot better. It's nice seeing a variety of weapons instead of just two. The AC-42 and AK-24 both feel great now.
idk, i never thought sniping was particularly effective in hardcore. i think they had a sweet spot with hardcore in BF2, BF3, and BF4 where you could have fun in long-range combat or CQC and then BF1 and BF5 were balanced only for CQC, where they amped up the inhuman athletic stuff
Vehicles are already crazy strong. The idea of hardcore hurts my brain I did like bf4 hardcore though so
The amount of vehicles has to be toned down. You can't go anywhere without 3-4 vehicles accosting you.
i don't think the number of vehicles changes with hardcore. they might get weaker in strength, im not sure vehicle wise i think mainly you lack a minimap with enemies lit up, so a vehicle is less effective at finding targets. Hiding from vehicles on foot is way easier, which helps in taking it out with RPGs.
Got the Soflam yesterday and used it for a map. That thing is insane. Also I don’t think vehicles are even a conversation once people rank up and start using some of this shit. Also it would greatly help if you could actually communicate with people to take vehicles out.
The problem is, they don't. Armor being in the game is absolutely idiotic because most people seem to run that. I don't blame them.
I don’t see it that often or as that big of an issue with what I use to kill. Personally I think the armor is virtually useless so I’m okay with it. And again, what I’ve said is kind of null and void considering people can’t talk. Portal is useless Hardzone already dead Can’t play with friends across platforms Minimal maps, guns and modes Vehicles can completely dominate games
Game definitely needs a ton of work. The vehicle thing seems pretty standard for BF games though. When I went back to BF4 a couple of months ago that's how it was there. Nothing but LAV and Little Birds dominating.
Guys....this game might suck ass. I have played an unconscionable amount of Battlefield in my life, I've never felt this disinterested.
I've ran out of steam fairly quickly. I was enjoying it a bit more before a lot of the OP stuff got unlocked. Early on when a lot of players weren't high enough to spawn a lot of the vehicles it was a lot better. Now it's vehicle bukkake every where you go. I still in the long it might be good but damn it needs a lot of work.
I don’t understand how they had such success with BFBC2 and BF3 and then just drive the bus right off a goddamn cliff
Anyone feel like they are stuck in a shit map rotation? It's 2021 and I can't pick the map I would like to play and text is more prevalent than speech.
Update #3 3 updates in and still unable to play with more than 3 friends. Also, I bought this game specifically for Portal. All they have to do is turn the fucking xp back on, but they act like it's rocket science and pretend to be "looking into it." It took them no time at all and absolutely zero amounts of looking into it for them to turn it off. The only way that XP farming is even an issue, is if they are planning on selling XP boosts. I'm assuming that is coming after Christmas
The last sniper rifle is satisfying. If you can find a good mid range distance the thing rips balls. On distance the drop is insane though.
Silly games have silly skins. This is indeed a silly game. Won't be long before we have glowy skins and shit. Looking like Fortnite.
They see their active player numbers dropping like flies, and still go through with this? Honestly can't tell if it's malicious intent or incompetence, at this point.
I actually don’t mind the skin thing. I remember on V they sold some German dude, he was like 4.99. I was absolutely blown away by the volume of people who bought that guy. It was insane to me and to not have these out for 3 weeks is hilarious. Fucking Santa.
They are also adding 64 player versions of conquest and breakthrough for a limited time at some point soon. Not sure why for only a limited time.
I’m rooting for EA to just clean house with dice. The Glassdoor reviews tell you everything you need to know about that studio. So much coddling. The UI designer bragging about her job well done on Twitter is the icing on the cake.
They need to bring back some veterans of the franchise. I don't think there are many left from the glory days. But nobody wants to work for EA I'm guessing.
The only thing that worries me is Ripple taking on other roles besides Portal. They say they'll continue to support portal, so hopefully that includes slowly releasing all the maps from the games included and also bringing in the more recent battlefields that aren't included.
Lol it’s too late though. I’ll play COD every other year, usually when BF gets stale. It’s always the same damn game, different maps. I never understood how they didn’t copy that model years ago. It’s not a game that demands innovation. Leave it the fuck alone and get some maps made.
Hell if they still supported BF1 or any of the older games I’d pay for that. I like the idea of splitting it off.
It's what they should have done initially. In that article, it talks about the possibility of something from the BF franchise being free to play in the future, and they said something along the lines of "exploring all possibilities." Probably means a BR coming, though
