He was able to hang onto a career position coach that played at LSU and has coached there since 2012. Impressive

 

i'm sure BK will put together a great staff. and it may even work out in the form of a national championship. but kelly wanted badly to bring down a few guys and elston telling him know undoubtedly hurts him, which puts a big ol' smile on my face

Honestly, with the corners Raymond is pumping out lately, I agree that he may be better at that individual position than any ND coach returning.

But he coaches an individual position group. Trying to compare impact is laughable. Elston has been co-gameplanning our defense with Freeman all season, and will likely be our DC or co-DC.

 

And he may have gotten lucky and put a DL or two into the league. I'd have to check on that one.

 

Elko was great at ND, Lea was equally great at ND on the field but obviously not the recruiter Elko is. Freeman is the full package though. Elko coming to ND is part of the chain of events that led to this conclusion, so it's worked out for everyone involved. The Elko troll means nothing to ND fans at this point. Weird slant. Hope Elko doesn't jump for a greener pastures on you guys. He does have that track record. LSU will come hard after him if they haven't already.

 

I’d imagine a job like Colorado state would be intriguing to him.
