I'm actually really glad Thoros brought this up. 2019 #12 ND, 10-2: Independent: No conference title game, plays unranked Iowa State in Camping World Bowl If we were in the B1G West: Plays #1 OSU in the B1G Title Game. Win and we may be in the playoffs, lose and we're in the Rose Bowl against #5 Oregon (like #11 Wisconsin did after #1 OSU beat them) I'm glad you like playing unranked ISU instead of two top 5 teams. I agree, let's stay independent.
Spoiler on the bowl game… If we win, nobody will give a shit so we’ll receive no credit. If we lose, we will get lambasted mercilessly.
Rose bowl doesn’t mean shit. Playing Iowa state was better for us bc it lead to a top 4 finish last year
I think our best win was Navy that year. Have a good resume, make a good bowl. Brian wanted soft schedules, but soft schedules don't make money, hence our new tougher schedules. Your hypothetical about the Rose Bowl is wrong though. Wisconsin was 8 going into the B1G Championship game. If we were 12 going into that game and lost, we wouldn't even qualify for a NY6 game. Don't forget to shove the snark up your ass before falling asleep.
I’m sorry the way the cards fell but over the past week, I’m gonna stick around for awhile. LETS GO HCMF!!!
Hey we're going to be in the same boat! If we don't come ready to play Utah is going to beat our ass.
Did I really walk into this thread arguing about independence? We haven't covered enough topics this week for y'all? Christ.
Guys ND’s schedule was absurdly bad this year and the team almost made the playoff gtfo about joining the shitty Big West or ACC
Advocating to join the B1G should result in a thread ban imo. Spoiler just kidding Spoiler but really, fuck that shit heap
Had four preseason top 15 teams on the schedule. Only one of them finished ranked. And we lost to that team at home by two scores. That’s the lasting narrative of this season.
look at my man chasing the young and the drunk coeds if you even barely look like Marcus Freeman you could have a very productive week
Lasting narrative would be the same if we went 11-1 or 3-9 imo. It’s all about Kelly/Freeman and where things so from here.
I said “go Dawgs” to a guy in Georgia gear at the tree farm yesterday. I feel personally attacked by their performance yesterday.
So for some reason I can’t get enough Marcus Freeman porn. this dude brings a lot of good points at the 3:32 mark
I think their offensive skill players are slightly better, but QB much worse. None of the teams this year are as good as Bama last year though.
No. Bama last year was historically good. This year is interesting. Up until mid first quarter of the SECCG game yesterday, everybody thought UGA was unbeatable. Bama was lucky to escape Auburn and looked human against Arkansas and LSU and even lost to that shitty team with at least a passable DC from College Station. Fast forward to yesterday and they look super human again. This is going to be interesting. This is actually a bad year for OSU to suck on D and lose a couple games, because their offensive skill players present the type of team that could break through and challenge the big 2. Chalk should hold, but we've seen good teams look human this year. And even if chalk holds, was Saturday the way it is, or does UGA grow a pair and punch back? Ultimately, though, Bryce Young's the most talented QB in the tourney and has grown tremendously this season, so I give them the nod because of him. I do feel terrible for Metchie, though. What a gut punch for that poor kid. I don't care the program, I hate seeing that happen when they are at that point in the season when they are so close to a great moment.
As frustrated as we can be with our QB situation, it boggles the mind that UGA rolls into the SECCG, ranked #1 and untested, and they're trotting out Stetson Fucking Bennett. How does a program with access to that much talent not have better options than their plucky walk on with a name straight out of the old SWC?
And there you go. Funny thing is, if you could put last year's Ian Book on this year's Georgia, that's a tough team to beat. He couldn't hit those fades to those WRs consistently, but he'd be more dangerous on the ground and not throw some of those stupid INTs that Bennett had last night.
yeah. because they lost Cincinnati to the playoffs, they have first selection. it's 95% certain that's where we'd head. but the other option would be peach against Pitt
