he actively encourages panic and fear all so he can get attention on twitter. in a just society he would never see another day of freedom
at least fauci's lie at the start (which again: straight to jail) was based on some altruistic motivation to protect frontline workers, no matter how dumb and destructive that logic was. ding just lies for twitter clout and to scare people.
I hadn’t seen him lie just be overly cautious if so I retract my statement Fauci was such a fucking idiot to do that, I’m a little more willing to cut him slack on dealing politically with the trump admin but still think that could have been handled better as well
the right villainizes him for stupid reasons but he absolutely has blood on his hands for that shit. you can't hammer birx and not him. completely torched the mask debate on like day 1 and we still have libs buying fauci action figures to do pretend weddings with their rbg ones
Such a wrong take from that. Unvaxxed don't think its a threat at all so they obviously don't think it will harm them. Its not that vaxxed are too scared.
Well my sisters entire family now has covid. Wonder if it’s omicron since family transmission is sky high with that variant
He’s not convincing anyone who isn’t already well protect and taking precautions. There is a cost to instilling irrational fear in those people though, the Twitter thread the other day of people who had not got Covid so far saying why was quite revealing. There are a great number of people who are going to find it very difficult to get back to normal. I’m not saying he is as bad as anti vaxxers but I think his overall impact is going to be damaging.
My son received his second dose on Dec 10, started showing symptoms last night about an hour after basketball practice & tested positive. So now we’ve exposed his whole team to covid a few days before Christmas. Not much we could have done but it’s still really frustrating.
Yeah his antics of hyperbolizing study findings and painting it all up with a bunch of histrionic bullshit is extremely tiresome. It's clearly a schtick, and he's got 100s of thousands of followers and a constant stream of TV gigs for it.
Extended chud relative was unvaxxed and got covid a few months ago. Went to the ER a few times and thought he wouldn’t make it — never put on a vent. Now that he’s better he’s saying he won’t get the vaccine. These people are fucking stupid. That’s the answer.
Got my results back. Negative. Thank god. However, I definitely have something. Sore throat. Bit of a headache. Stuffed up.
Truly sucks for the people that seriously need it and healthcare workers but I am low-key excited to see all the people that have bravely touted “natural immunity” and “it only affects sick and fat people” get their day in the sun. For science of course, I am not wishing harm on anyone.
pperc pnk$krtcrÿnästÿ I've been seeing blurbs about the vaccine reeking havoc on the immune system and something called antibody-dependent enhancement. The articles I've read seem to come from reputable sources, but admittedly it seems they're mostly being republished by conservative outlets. I know nothing about this stuff, but the logic behind the claims at least seem to make sense. Is there anything to these arguments? Some risk but not enough to justify not getting the vaccine? Or a valid argument against the vaccine for young, healthy individuals, but not enough to ultimately justify not getting the vaccine on a macro level? Just curious if these are generally-accepted concerns or a fringe argument. FWIW, since getting the second vaccine, I've been sick a lot. Allergies worse than ever, a respiratory virus, a stomach virus, 2 sinus infections, 2 bad ear infections (something I haven't had since I was a young kid), 1 case of strep, and a chronic cough for the last several months. Until about 6 months ago, you could count on one hand the number of times I've been sick in the last 20 years. Is there any chance my recent ailments are tied to the vaccine or just an unfortunate coincidence?
ADE-potential epitope candidates were screened out at the pre-clinical trial stage Its worth asking about since the idea comes up in some circles, usually conspiratorially but as weve already seen, that leaks out everywhere. You did good stagger
I’ve been sick a lot too post vaccine Spoiler my 16 month old went to day care, only 1 case of covid in 4 months though
I have already accepted that my kids will eventually kill me with all the shit they bring home from daycare.
I hate it as much as the next guy, but this messaging was both a big failure of the CDC/admin treating the vaccine as a completely sterilizing vaccine and a disingenuous adversarial political ethos that's hellbent on being dipshits to libs in an effort to die or prove a very important point at time 3:38. February of this year ("we cannot get sick" etc.)
No, the vaccine does not reek havoc on the immune system. Antibody dependant enhancement was a theoretical concern early in the pandemic, pre-vaccine. It was one theory about why some people got severely ill and some didn't, but that's since been dismissed. It's a thing that sounds smart and plausible hence why conservative media outlets dump it in the trough of their readers. Wherever you're reading this stuff, move on to a better source of information. Your symptoms aren't because of the vaccine. It's a terrible viral year, like the worst in a long while. Most people have been sick more than they have in a long time. Keep in mind that our brains have a great deal of power over our bodies. All of those people who get violently ill after a flu shot? Happens if you give them placebo too.
took our daughter to daycare like 3x back in July and she immediately got RSV. stopped going to daycare. unfortunately we had to take her in a few days last week. got the call this morning they’re having to shut down due to multiple staff testing + this week.
There's nothing I dread more than getting that call from the daycare telling me that Stagger Jr. has some slightly detectable fever and needs to be picked up and held out for 48 hours. The call always comes when I'm slammed at work and always leads to a huge fight with my wife over who gets to stay home with the kiddo. And without fail, that kid will pass whatever he has to our other son, resulting in us having to repeat this process.
yep my 3 y.o. daughter got RSV in September, then gave it to our then 2 week old. So he ended up in the hospital for that. Then came croup. Then another cold. And I'm currently posting this from my bed because I'm home with a viral GI bug that all of us have had to. I mean, having young kids means you get sick a lot but this year is just absurd.
Oh the fucking croup. I'll die happy if I don't ever have to spend another night in a steam shower listening to that seal bark.
Do you think there is any correlation between worldwide lockdowns/social distancing and this being a bad viral year? Theoretically, for an 18-month period less people have been going to work, the gym, restaurants, school, etc., exposing themselves to early mutations of current virus strains and building their immune response. No?
wait, you have kids in daycare and are wondering why you are now getting sick but weren't 10 years ago?
