Slovakia going 6 on 3 makes me so happy. There’s so little risk to pulling the goalie in a 5 on 3 scenario.
Looks like both eichel trade pieces will play in their first game as sabres in the coming week. Tuch is finally healthy
No relegation this year. They are going to do an 11 team tournament next season (don’t ask why they are doing 11)
I thought the players didn’t want to go because if the mandated quarantine period if someone tests positive over there?
Some didnt. Seeing a lot of comments from players that feel differently getting tweeted out. I would assume the guys with young families are more hesitant while the younger/single guys would willing to go
Well that sucks I don't see how they're not done for the tournament considering all the rest of the group games are within the next few days
FWIW - I saw Taylor Hall and Tarasenko say they both agree w Marchand. Tarasenko is a little surprising. He's a pretty big family guy. Not the crazy russian type. It's understandable though. All those guys in their mid 20s to early 30s are gonna miss their olympic windows. They all grew up dreaming of playing
Short of Canada relaxing the strict border rules, which they should but likely won’t, it’s hard to imagine this season finishing remotely close to on time. Unless the majority of the league gets covid these next few weeks.
Ottawa, can we have your 2023 pick? I swear y’all will be playoff contenders by then and it won’t be worth much.
This is lukewarm at best. He cant keep up w the action so he tells stories and anecdotes the whole time
These guys going down to the continental breakfast and playing floor hockey with other guests or something? How hard is it to just stay in your room and get room service. This is the WJC, not peewee silver stick tourney in Chicago.
This could make for a fun Olympics but I don’t believe Canada will follow suit with CHL kids, so the upside is limited.
I get the tournament protocols were planned a while ago, but you would have thought they may have reconsidered once Omicron started spreading so quickly. I’m assuming they’re forced to have these strict protocols, so why even have the tournament in the first place?
IIHF shit the bed on this tournament. A wedding reception in the same hotel they’re staying in with this strict of protocols is ridiculous.
