So yes, I had to watch 45ish and 70ish adult males challenge each other to footraces or basketball contests on pretty much every Holliday that it was warm out and we had the available space.

Health issues aren’t really a concern with a modicum if hygiene. Also (iirc) they don’t anesthetize newborns because they recover fast — or something like that. Adults should absolutely be numbed up. I think I would want to be knocked out.

Not my direct family, but we decided to go to my home town this weekend to see one of my good friends and his wife for her 40th birthday/ new years. Was supposed to be a small thing at there house, 10 people or so they said. And we kinda watched the covid #s in the area and they had a huge spike later this summer than most places did (as I think seemed to happen in most more remote rural areas), and haven't had much if a recent spike like where we live We we get to the party, there are atleast 30 people in the house. First person I'm talking to is my buddies mom who tells me this is the first time her and her husband have been out of the house all week since they have been sick 'with the regular flu' I get a couple of questions in, and of course they hadn't gone and gotten tested for anything because they had covid back in February. Thank God we had a hotel room and weren't staying at their house. Took about an hour before I got the text "where you at?" Made some shit up about the little man musta gotten into too many sweets and threw up in the yard, so we bailed
They anesthetize newborns, but it only became common practice within the last few decades according to the wife's OB.
