So, me and a buddy were texting and I put out a scenario if Rodgers & Adams resign. Would they make the numbers work with this kind of possibility? - Adams and Rodgers resign so that’s a LOT of money - Z is gone - Preston….gone? Likely?? - draft d-end for sure, interior defensive lineman - resign 1 of 2 between Rasul & Campbell (if they do Rasul they are banking on having the best secondary in football, at least top 3) - release Turner, resign Nijman move to right tackle, only big money spent on Bak with the interior all on rookie deals. - **try to find money for Jenkins & Jaire for extensions during the year. - almost for sure Amos last year (unless he takes a super friendly team deal) - hold off another year on Savage since he has 5th year option (pick that up) - Mason probably done? Maybe?? His dead cap is $2.3 million but the cap hit is $4.7 million….that’s a lot and, good kickers are hard to find, but I imagine that’s a long thought out process to save a few million - Lancaster or Lowry cut to save more space (another interior lineman or two drafted) - king gone for sure - big dog would be less than a million in cap savings, back, Deguara main catching tight-end, no more Tonyan unless it’s under $2 million - can’t afford MVS - Lazard back for $1.5 million? St. Brown as well for cheap - draft wr **try to find some vet minimums after initial wave, similar to campbell** I’m obviously overlooking some shit, but how far off you guys think I am?
Buddy also said, the entire scenario is weird as fuck because if Rodgers decides he wants to retire or be traded you have a COMPLETELY different scenario. you literally look at things so fucking different in so many areas.
take a kings ransom for rodgers and move the fuck on. if he thinks he's gonna get it better somewhere else ... LOL and fuck him
IMO just do what the Saints did during Brees' tenure, push all the money into future years for as long as Rodgers is here and deal with that shit later
I think a very underrated part of Gute is his ability to attract talent that enjoys and wants to be in Green Bay. Rodgers insane takes aside, the team is so fucking likable but they also seem to really like each other. That’s not always the case and kind of rare tbh. God knows there are plenty of people you fucking hate that you work with. Seems to be a lot less of that with Green Bay’s locker room compared to most professional teams.
I legit can not imagine tackling that man when it’s 75 and sunny. When it’s cold as fuck it has to feel like being hit by a dump truck.
I know Rodgers has his own issues as far as likability right now, but Greg Jennings can still fuck off
Have to think it is a tryout for Bakhtiari to see if he can go in the playoffs. I'm not so sure it's a sure thing that they just throw him out there in a playoff situation with so little practice/game reps
It is truly amazing how good our OL has been without Bak, Jenkins, Myers, and Turner. ELITE replacement level players.
God help us if we move forward with him as QB1. Next year, the year after, or ever. The only thing he’ll help us achieve is top 5 picks.
Even if he competes that pass he wasted so much time. So not only can he not read a defense or throw well, he also doesn’t have football IQ total package
I think not playing a lot of snaps shows Love’s issues a bit. I’m not thinking he is the future, but he showed some poise with the comeback & the second int is on Taylor not picking up the blitz. He also should have led 3 straight touchdown drives. Davis dropped a pretty great throw on first possession. where I’ve given up is on Amari Rodgers who looks like trash in almost every aspect of the game. First int doesn’t happen if he just ignores the tip or doesn’t drop the tip (I realize it’s not easy). It was a hard catch but Love threw a perfect ball to him on a 2-point conversion he didn’t make a play on. He might be Gute’s swan song on wrs drafting at the right time, he listened once and they failed.
So with chalk we play the Rams Honestly I think I'd rather play the Rams than the 9ers. Cardinals don't really scare me. Eagles run the ball like crazy but think that is a bridge too far to concern us round 1. Deebo, Kittle, and Shanahan's willingness to stick to the run is the most trouble we could face Rd 1.
Campbell was a really good Gopher but if you told me he was going to be 1st Team All-Pro someday, I would not have believed you.
I’m sure the demons will get plenty of exercise on Saturday (I assume?). I’d prefer we exorcise them.
