So many sanitation workers are out due to COVID that our recycling pickup has been temporarily suspended, I guess so that they can prioritize regular trash pickup.
And cut back on a single F35? No way https://www.wgbh.org/news/local-new...als-are-maxed-out-as-covid-continues-to-surge We're back in "try not to need ICU for the next month" territory again
Old news. This was actually discovered back in October and hasn't done shit since. That paper is co-authored by one of the most dubious motherfuckers around (same guy who I think pushed a bunch of fraudulent HCQ studies early on). Any outlet that's running this story either a) does an exceptionally poor job of vetting its info, or more likely b) is shamelessly catering to doom addicts for clicks. Either way, click 'ignore' on it.
Idk but saw a video with a doctor saying that omicron and delta are so dominant it’s unlikely this one would take over and he as much of a concern.
Also I feel like whole internet is just about saying numbers that seem large and watching how many people shit their pants and click 'share.' Oh my God 46 mutations FORTY SIX!
https://readimask.com/ If you have a weird face or maybe if you're having trouble finding a good fitting mask for your kid
Just amazing. We will go virtual for a week if half the students or teachers are out w covid. what’s the point at that point?
My local school district in suburban Cincinnati just cancelled busing this week and likely next week because they don’t have enough drivers due to Covid positives. Masks are still optional though, because this is Republican hell.
My school district is on the verge of shutting down. They have levels and we're on level 3 and rapidly approaching level 4 (highest level). Mask still optional though.
They cancelled two boys basketball games this week because the JV team only has three players and the varsity is basically a cobbled together collection of starters and JV kids.
Yeah it looks like we've peaked here in the Atlanta area (at least Fulton and DeKalb), but even on the downslope of a peak we're still going to see huge case numbers (as high as Delta or still higher) for probably at least another couple of weeks. In Gwinnett where I live, the second biggest county in Georgia, the positivity rate for yesterday was 45%, seems like this will burn out hopefully rapidly but it's causing major disruptions to businesses, school, daycare, etc.
Being home over Christmas. My parents decided to berate me for being “financially irresponsible” which is funny because I’ve worked for nonprofits for going on a decade and have a higher net worth than pretty much all of my colleagues and friends at 32. I’m an accountant by trade but have extremely detailed personal finances since I like to analyze the data and find ways to finagle our money. Throw in the digs at my hair loss, the amount of student debt my wife initially had, and how my sister is a college drop-out and a failure (who makes close to 6 figures lol) and it becomes evident why I moved away. It tells me that neither of them care to know my most surface-level traits and, for whatever reason, that was the major epiphany and ended up crushing me days later after I thought I had decompressed from the trip. Probably doesn’t help that I got very high that night. Never experienced such a sudden paralysis and overwhelming onslaught of emotions. Sort of like being a prisoner in someone else’s mind. tl;dr user prerecordedlive thought he lacked a support system growing up but turns out his parents just like being verbally abusive to make up for their own shortcomings
there have been countless cases since the start of this i am sure. it sounds sensational and bad but i don't think its something to worry about being the end times like you can have the flu and other stuff at the same time (mono for example) and its not doomsday
I had two separate covid scares the week of christmas - 1) 2 day stomach discomfort and 2) runny nose/sneezing. Over the course of that week I tested negative (x2 antigen) and while waiting all week for PCR results, my nasal stuff dissipated. I got my negative PCR result NYE, while I was being silly with my guard down. I also flew the next day. Now I have a renewed runny nose/sneezing and have tested positive on antigen. Funny thing is I feel better now compared to how I felt before christmas. Fun stuff.
Work in a small office, there’s only 4 of us in there. Boss came in today and first thing tells us that we should probably stay away as he doesn’t feel well. Of course in my head it’s a, well what the fuck are you doing here then. Hour later he informs us he probably should leave as his FIL (who lives with him) just tested positive. Coincidentally enough I was only going to be there for a couple hours cause my daughters daycare is quarantining from a positive kid in the class yesterday. Have avoided Covid this entire time but looks like my lucks about to run out. very pissed off about my boss. He’s a right wing nut so I’m sure he just thinks this is all fake and made up. He better pray that the Omicron variant is actually milder as he’s in anti vax, 55, life long smoker, high blood pressure, and just over all pretty unhealthy.
