Quick question; what’s everyone’s go to method for cleaning their grill grates? I took everything and stuck it in the dishwasher at one point and then got to spend the next day cleaning the grease and crap off all the dishes that were in there with the grates. I have used some full strength Krud Kutter before with some success. Was curious of other suggestions.
I heat them up on the grill at full blast for about 15-20 to burn off as much as I can. After they cool, I scrape them them with the fitted spatula. SOS pad and some Dawn on the lawn with the garden hose.
Power washer and oven degreaser on stainless grates Just power washer on my steel grates on the big smoker because I don't want to take all the seasoning off the steel
THF I cleaned mine because of your post. This is about all I'm looking for in terms of cleanliness. Not trying to get them spotless but definitely get the majority of gunk off of them.
I like this brush. Grill super hot. Get this brush wet and scrub the grill. trying to embed Amazon link. Talk about some luck. Just decided to probe a few minutes ago and sitting 165 dead on. Didn’t even look at it once. Pulled and resting, because we don’t have sides yet. Will still be good.
Had a couple of GC's to Amazon and grabbed a Joetisserie today and it should be here tomorrow. Have chicken that I plan on doing over the weekend.
This is from Porter Road. I also bought some salmon from Lummi Island… It’s just money and cunty protein is generally worth it.
Hello at the show. looking to get a pellet cooker to have at my in-laws who live up in Maine. I love my Joe but want something flexible and easy for when we’re up here. I don’t need anything massive but certainly want to be able to cook for a party if necessary. I’d love to be able to sear but the only one that gets above 500 seems to be the new RecTec1250 and that seems way too big. Leaning towards RecTec or finding a discounted Traeger. Curious if anyone has a Camp Chef or ZGrill. Goutfully yours, f
Definitely some camp chef owners in here. No idea on zgrill but search both ITT and you’ll see what they say.
Speaking of chili, does anyone have a recipe they feel particularly strong about? Gonna do it in the kamado for the first time this weekend.
Buddy of mine has a Green Mountain pellet smoker and loves it. The handful of times he has cooked for us on it the results were pretty impressive
Been there! We grilled before a baseball game and the fire had been "out" for 6 or so hours. Threw the Old Smokey in the bed of the truck and hopped onto the highway. A few minutes later some State Trooper informed us via some loud-ass speaker system that we had a 50-foot fireball trailing our car. Passed a few field sobriety tests and off we went.
can you update us on the quality once it comes in? I used to go to the storefront all the time, but now that I live on the other side of Nashville, I rarely go anymore. Have been toying with ordering online, but was worried the quality wouldn’t be the same as in store.
I’ve ordered lamb shoulder and pork collar from them and it’s been the same quality you get at the store front. Love that place (and the Gambling Stick rip).
Good to hear. And damn I miss the Gambling Stick. Didn’t get over there one more time before it closed, unfortunately
I have half a leg of lamb, no bone and no butcher twine. I want to eat it tonight but I don’t want to leave the house. It’s windy and 24 degrees.
