Look at us go I always worried we were just too stupid of a nation and the whole "This variant isn't that bad wasn't going to go as well for us as everyone else"
My 10 year old niece got covid for the second time. My kids just went back to school today so just a matter of time before it lands here
Fuck... Also, it's from this headline that's showing up on a bunch of antivaxxer's insta stories... https://noqreport.com/2022/01/09/bi...hey-have-already-set-up-the-internment-camps/
I'm really curious what omicron's gonna do to us in MN. We're really only about a week into our surging # os cases, but hospitalizations have been going down fairly sharply to date. Could change any moment, but we've had such a long, awful delta wave (like, perhaps worst in the country) that we're STILL on the tail end of, that I wonder if we'll see any measurable uptick in hospitalizations compared to other states
NY seems to be topping out, the 7 day average was going up 5000-6000 per day mid-late december, that cut in half towards the beginning of last week, and last few days it's been about 1000 per day increases.
Worldometer had like less than half the states reporting yesterday. With that backlog and things still trending up, today could be the 1M case day.
First time flying since covid. Have done a lot of road trips. It is every bit the shit show I was expecting so far.
Remember in that episode of House where all the babies were getting sick post delivery and they found the source of infection being that old lady giving them teddy bears? What a quaint episode
Have no clue what’s going on. Wife test positive Friday, I tested negative and my kid tested negative. I have symptoms and kid has been symptomatic since January first but test d negative 3 times. Kid is 2 and unvaccinated and all over his mother all the time before wife test positive. Wife is still kinda Crudy but I feel fine with a minor cough and sore throat. But keep testing negative. I just don’t see any way that we didn’t catch it
My son’s Catholic grade school has a new principal for 2021-22, after the former principal was there for 20+ years. She set a mandatory mask policy in August and a small group of parents went ballistic, actually protested at the school, then cooled off when no one rallied to support their bullshit. They have been hammering at the new principal privately since, including interfering with donors on a new gym we’re raising money to build. We went mask optional on Monday 1/3. My son’s 6th grade teacher went maskless, then tested positive on Tuesday 1/4. Now at least four kids in his class are out, along with almost 25% of the rest of the school. We’re back to mandatory masks today.
Home antigen, but wife confirmed hers with a pcr. I’m treating myself like I’m positive. I have a pcr scheduled for end of week to confirm I’m negative.
A less nice me would try to dox their communications to other parents They're probably on telegram or gab
When did you first get symptoms? See below on how at home tests generally only catch you during your infections period, not necessarily symptomatic.
Let me know if you're positive. Basically my story except my wife didn't test positive and we all got sick with similar symptoms and never tested positive by rapid (tested myself twice over 48 hours).
We have all had some crud since New Years essentially. Wife tested like 3 times and negative and kid twice. Last friday wife lost her sense of smell and taste for about 12 hours. So she tested again that day. And popped positive. I got a little extra snotty Saturday and I tested and my son tested negative that day. I’m much better already. My kid hasn’t had much change. He has had a temp for 99-100.2 about every day but he also has molars coming in. Maybe he had it and gave it to us idk
My wife was going to go to the school today and demand that maskless idiots sit on one side of the room and kids with sane parents sit on the other. Then we got a mandatory mask notification over the weekend. In contrast, my daughter goes to Mount Notre Dame HS, which is an all girls powerhouse in sports. They went virtual last week and mandatory masks this week. They have had numerous vaccine drives. My wife and I joke that it’s only to preserve the basketball season. They haven’t lost since 1/14/19, won the 2018-19 state title, had 2019-20 cancelled in the semis, and then won the 2020-21 title. They’re unbeaten now, nearing 100 games in the streak. Whatever it takes I guess.
5 month old almost assuredly has it. no symptoms or anything this weekend. in-laws took both kids on sunday. we had noticed her temp was at 99.1 but that wasnt a big jump and she is cutting a tooth which will cause a mild fever. no issues when we dropped her off (they live about 3 hours away). last night was a disaster. temp got to 101 and she is super congested and fussy. gave her some infant tylenol and the fever hasnt come back so we are just waiting to see what happens next. tests are taking 5 days and no one has rapids so just gotta keep an eye on her 3 year old has zero symptoms so far but who knows
Worse mine got was congestion, fever, and just mad as fuck at everything. Good luck, hope for the same.
yeah that is where we are at. feel bad for my in laws that they are having to watch everyone but they're retired and despite my best efforts at winning the lottery, we are not. so they're having to suffer too.
my kid was pill last week but is also two. He also had a couple days where he didn’t want to eat anything. I bet he got it from day care and gave it to my wife maybe I had it earlier last week too
Last week I had terrible nasal congestion, runny nose, and was very fatigued. I slept from 5:30 pm to 4 am 4 nights in a row. My wife bought a couple of at home tests but they came back negative. No idea what I had but it kicked my butt. I’m double vaccinated but I have a couple of months left before I can receive my booster.
Son has to go to dr to get his shots so I assume if he doesn’t have Covid already he will prob be getting it there soon. Harris county is at 38% positive testing rate now.
Third month in a row our daughter is getting quarantined from day care for a close contact. Yay. Pretty sure she doesn’t have it but this shot is still exhausting. Facility was a ghost town when I went to pick her up, pretty eerie.
Elementary school in city in Arkansas where my MIL teaches has to go virtual because of no teacher or subs.
Yeah so with 1 out of every 3 the rate has to be much higher with people testing at home or not testing at all.
Made it this far and just tested positive. Boosted up but still have a headache and am pretty congested. Didn’t really move from the couch today
