Saw it posted on Twitter from the Vol Rivals site but apparently Adonai Mitchell committed to UT. Shot a video and everything but Pruitt wouldn’t take him because he’s a diabetic.
Some real scoundrel shit. Pruitt probably thought diabetes was contagious and didn't want to risk it.
Someone put Pruitt probably thought it was an STD. But yeah it happened. A Volquest mod said it the other night.
#Alabama Crimson Tide guys are in their thread fantasizing about this piece of shit joining the staff. Shit makes me really sad for the kid and might even be illegal.
not sure there’s a “like” needed. he’s a simple fucking redneck who just so happens to be a great defensive mind.
Exactly, where the fuck is this nonsense "good at dropping bags" when he has fired for doing so. I guess he really was sent to Knoxville in a Trojan horse to keep us down. Fuck the REC. And Fuck UTAD for falling for it AGAIN!!! *sigh* Fuck me Spoiler please
Seriously though, does Saban bring him back in anything other than a support role like Butch Jones. Tennessee still doesn't have answers from the NCAA regarding his elite bag dropping skills.
Dropping bags is legal now. He was ahead of the curve. *I also think once weed is legalized, everyone in jail for weed charges should be let out
Yea if true, that's fucked up, but seems pretty out of character for him. Probably more to that story imo. Taking Vols twitter word for anything related to Pruitt seems pretty foolish.
Not taking a kids commitment because you find out he has diabetes is one of the worst things I've ever heard of a coach doing. It's behind the two murderers and the big 10 perverts of course.
That just sounds weird. They didn't know before they offered? The high school coaches never said anything the whole time they were recruiting him? I'd be surprised if every team doesn't have a kid or two with diabetes. Just sounds off and probably more to it imo. I just don't buy they sat the kid down and said "oh we found out you have diabetes so we're pulling our offer." If true, it's fucked up but just doesn't sound plausible.
I'll bite, what's he saying that's so laughable. I'd think you'd get a bad rep with cruits and families quickly if you just straight up shit on kids' health situations
I don’t think it’s right to do what Pruitt did if an internet message board is telling the truth, but to list it behind 2 murders and widespread sexual assault is laughable. I would guess that every P5 HC has done some similar and probably worse.
I mean gun to my head I'd rather have Pruitt run the defense. Those defenses he ran for us were unreal, and he's an elite recruiter. I think most of us have come around on Golding and nobody wants to run him off, but if he moved on, nobody is going to be upset if we immediately replace him with Pruitt. Like Dbl said I think the ideal scenario is bring him in as a position coach and keep Golding. Just not sure how that works personality-wise.
Everybody knows that college football coaching staffs are filled with individuals of outstanding moral character that never do anything shady, especially in Athens, Georgia. I also fully buy anything a known Tennessee insider says about Jeremy Pruitt on a message board, especially on the heels of him potentially going back to Tuscaloosa.
Bama fans, how mad will you be if Golding is not fired and Karl Scott spurns Saban’s offer to be co-DC in favor of doing the same at Florida?
We get rejected on a yearly basis by guys that don't want to work for Saban, Scott may have been one of those that wasn't a huge fan of that himself. I'd say we will probably be okay with whoever else Saban hires as we already got Valai out of the door which was the important part.
Ha! Joke’s on you two because you’re getting him! Thanks for falling into my little trap that was completely intended and not at all a result of false confidence that something good could happen to us for once.
I've said a couple times (once in here) that Raymond and Scott would be absolutely absurd. I'm interested to see what title/paycheck we are giving him, he is supposedly pretty close with Billy.
He is. And I believe Karl Scott was in the wedding of Patrick Toney (our co-DC) and vice versa. I’m sure it was a hard decision, especially since we’ve been told Billy has a blank checkbook. But Bama is Bama.
If (big if) that story is true, it's shitty as hell and Pruitt obviously fucked up. AD just made one of the biggest catches in UGA's history as a freshman and showed out all season. This is why Pruitt needs someone else making executive decisions for him and reminding him he's an idiot.
It's not just a random message board poster. It's a rivals site writer that filmed the commitment video with AD.
I’d like to keep Pete. I think he’s grown into himself the past few years, and while it’s a bit frustrating that it takes a few weeks (or more) for our D to come together, I’d prefer they be playing their best ball at the end of the year. He’s still young, he’s obviously got a very bright mind, and I think he finally started to understand you don’t always have to be the smartest guy in the room when you’ve got the caliber of player we do. It seemed like we dumbed things down a bit at times this year and that was to everyone’s benefit. If he wants to get out from under Saban’s wings to make a name for himself, I’ll wish him all the luck in the world. But I’d be pretty pissed if we pushed him out for Pruitt at this point.
