It seems odd to put it there, with a pretty successful neighborhood bar like 50 paces away and very little parking.
We do need some kind of neighborhood bar in Vestavia. There is absolutely nothing. Is the problem city ordinances or something? I’m sure they’re not too keen on those type of business opening. But if somebody could get it done they would kill it. Would attract every dad in the hood as regular customers.
Apparently Evelyn's changed names again. Now going by Civitas according to Google. Deleted all social media. Pretty wild to change names 3 times in like 15 months but the food has always been great so I hope it remains that way.
I talked to the owner for a while this summer at a rehearsal dinner that was there. The first name change was covid related. They felt opening right before the shutdown killed any momentum they had, so when things “normalized” they wanted to come back as something else to build more.
What’s open Sunday nights relatively close to downtown? I know Automatic is, but they’re apparently still on their winter break until tomorrow.
just about all the stuff in lakeview is open but pretty much all of the automatic-level restaurants are closed on sunday. my area of town is dead.
from your local sponcon aggregator: https://bhamnow.com/2022/01/08/37-of-birmingham-restaurants-open-on-sunday/
FYI I ran into a guy I know that works at Automatic. They are still waiting on plumbers to fix a few things and might not be able to open tomorrow so call ahead this week to make sure they are open if you’re planning on going
Does anyone know anywhere that has at home tests in stock? Been to 8 places in Crestline/Irondale with no luck
I went the day the opened in it was not very good. People are raving about it online/instagram though. My and my buddy I went with love gin and ordered 4 drinks on the menu and disliked all of them. Could have just been a bad night or something. Its a nice space inside and I love having a bar in that area.
Had no idea anything was in there. Is the idea that the only liquor is gin? I saw they have wine and beer also.
Bad experience? I like Guin and they do a good job, but there seems like a lot of markup. They quoted me an INSANE price for a new water heater, but maybe they misunderstood and thought I asked for tankless.
i have used Perfect Service Heating and Air for years now. They usually get someone out same day and had no problem doing a warranty repair on my air conditioning when it wasn't blowing cold air the day after christmas. The install was expensive but I have always been happy with their work.
I went. Got the Margherita and thought it was very good. Crust was perfect. Seemed pricey though with most pizzas in the $24-$25 range. Similar size and style of pizza at Bettola is $17.
Bettola was good but those bastards sat us right by the door Saturday night and it was freezing! Yummy pasta though.
Jesus Christ at the difference there. Makes me wonder how many times I've been fucked over for not knowing shit about hvac, plumbic, or electrical.
