Made some good points though. And a lot of coaches will feel like they're great if they have great players. For example, Allen Sitterle thought he was a great coach in SC because he had d-1 caliber OL playing for him until he moved to Georgia and got his shit handed to him regularly.
Any criticism against Ryan's play aside, it's been incredible he's lasted this long with almost always a shitty O-Line and only missed maybe 3 or 4 total games in his career. *knocks on wood*
Yeah it’s pretty impressive. The majority of his career he’s had shit blocking And good running backs like half the time.
The depressing thing is we can only improve on the margins and have to nail draft picks and bargain bin free agents to succeed
I feel like this stat and the defense only having 18 sacks or whatever really absolves Smith/Ryan from this mess of a season. You just can’t do anything being the worst in this category on both offense and defense. Total QB Hits Allowed In 2021: TB: 58 ARI: 64 PHI: 70 PIT: 71 NE: 79 LAR, SF: 80 CLE: 82 JAX: 84 DAL: 85 GB: 86 MIA: 87 KC: 89 DET, HOU: 92 BUF, LV: 93 NO: 94 LAC, MIN: 97 NYJ, SEA: 101 WAS: 102 DEN: 103 NYG: 104 TEN: 108 CAR, CIN, IND: 109 BAL: 112 CHI: 114 ATL: 130
I think had we won the Super Bowl I would view him differently. Now I just like take a fucking pay cut if you are going to stay. I don't blame him for fleecing the clowns that handed him that contract though.
It's going to be interesting to see how they handle is money this off-season, especially if they trade Ridley which should free up cap space.
It’s hard not to hate him currently. Face of the franchise, making a ton of money, team has been awful for 4 seasons now. I just think when you look at the ol/dl stats it’s clear this team is failing bc of how bad we are in the trenches. The problem is by the time our lines are fixed he will probably actually be awful
He's missed one game in those 12 years though and he's got the most pass attempts as well. So he kind of wins that one by default. Remarkable how durable he's been.
So roughly what do we think it would take to resign CP? Whats he looking for? 3 years $15m kind of deal?
Over The Cap valued him at $8.8 mil per year. I think he would take a team friendly-ish deal to stay in Atlanta for a few more years but I would honestly be surprised if he's on the team next year.
Simply stunning how poorly we have understood value and winning on the margins over the last decade or so
They might want to cut him 2 or 3 more times just to make sure that $29 mil doesn't get his name on it.
Tom Dimitroff should be arrested for what he did to the cap. i mean we are gonna have to trade Grady aren’t we
Jesus, I know Ryan has restructured his contract a few times, but fuck couldn't he just take one for the team and do it again if he wants his team to be competitive? Or is it a lot more complicated than that?
It'll get restructured. Cap is going up this year isn't it? Also Julio and Fowler will account for $20 mil in dead cap space this year. And assuming Ridley is traded that would free up $11 mil.
