I will admit that anything prior to his latest junior highlights didn't show the athleticism. This is a good one. https://www.maxpreps.com/athlete/pr...?videoid=fe6c8b4f-5bba-41ae-b067-aa33db6581c7
No worries. That's allowed. Buy I'm betting he signs with ND in December, so I'm not the only one who disagrees.
Hot take - that wasn't a great upset for us. I'd rather make sure we are in the solid top 4-5 in the ACC and get comfortably in, so now a 15-9 UVa who suddenly has two top 12 wins is looking kinda feisty in that 4-5 range in the ACC too
Fair point. That said, UVA looking feisty makes our victory over them look better come tourney time. We need that from some of the teams we’ve beaten.
Lunardi has ND in on the recent bracketology. Seems like that UVA win over Duke boosted our profile just a tad bit.
Iowa 247 guy said ND is slow playing Feagin right now and that he feels like IL leads. But if ND turns it on that’s where he will go If Zinter is a take so should this kid
Interesting. I think the "takes" should be independent of each other unless they are really just concerned about room. While both offer versatility on either side of the ball, they are different players, especially on offense, where Zinter would be more of a TE/H back and Feagin could play running back. I like both. If they are slow playing Feagin, I wonder if it means there's another RB in play.
I think as a staff you do like to have some glue guys, if you can get a few of those glue guys to be amazing prospects sure, but you want a few guys with a bit of charisma that absolutely LOVE ND to help keep the class together
This would make a lot of sense. I think that while he's a swing player, Zinter is seen as defense first, so it's easier to consider him a take right now.
As long as they being skills, as well, which both guys do. But what skills are needed at the moment versus who else is in play could matter. I like both players, and both have strong potential, but I cam see where it's easier to fit one set of skills at the moment versus the other.
So who was not invited? Notre Dame Kevin Austin Jr., WR Jack Coan, QB Kyle Hamilton, DB Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa, DL Kyren Williams, RB
Cain Madden isnt going to be an NFL player, dude should've just gone pro after his last year at Marshall. ND exposed that he cant move at all Strong as an ox though
A (for now) legal way of funneling money from people like DameFan straight to 'cruits and current players? Beautiful
Prister's film review Spoiler Four-star St. Louis product Christian Gray is a prototypical boundary cornerback. He can press at the line of scrimmage or meet his assignment 10 yards upfield. He can flip his hips and aggressively run with receivers. But when it’s time to peel off and pursue a ball carrier coming in his direction, he’s quick on the jump and arrives with a high degree of physicality. It’s this combination of skills that has attracted the Irish to Gray and Gray to the Irish. Notre Dame has emerged as a top candidate on the Class of 2023 wish list. The 6-foot-0, 175-pounder from DeSmet High School plays a bit longer and larger than his numbers indicate. In coverage, he can press at the line of scrimmage and shows a quick reaction time to the moves of his opponent. He shows quality footwork as he comes out of press and transitions into coverage. He’s under control in his backpedal, light on his feet in reacting to movement, and shows a consistent level of effort and desire to make a play. Gray plays with a high degree of physical maturity. Gray also shows coverage recognition. When working in tandem with a fellow defensive back in zone coverage, he is quick to diagnose the route of his opponent, knows when to pass off the receiver to a teammate and when to jump a route. What makes Gray a prototypical boundary cornerback is that strong pursuit of a ball carrier, which is somewhat reminiscent to the way Nick McCloud played the boundary position two seasons ago for the Irish (despite battling shoulder problems that he brought with him from N.C. State). Like McCloud, he relishes the opportunity to build up a head of steam and plow into a ball carrier as he works his way from pass to run defender. He is at his quickest when he transitions from backpedal to ball pursuit. Listed as a four-star prospect, the No. 144 composite player and 247Sports’ No. 172 prospect in the Class of 2023, Gray shows clocked 4.42 and 4.40 times from an Ohio State camp. Long-striding in the open field as a punt and kickoff return man, I would surmise that his time is closer to 4.45 to 4.5 due to his running style. But those are ample numbers, particularly for a boundary corner. Sound like someone you might like in a Notre Dame uniform? The odds appear very good for the Irish, who have emerged as the solitary leader for his services according to 247Sports’ Director of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong, National Recruiting Analyst Allen Trieu, 247Sports’ Tom Loy, and Irish Illustrated’s Kevin Sinclair. All four have submitted a crystal ball on Notre Dame. In a recent interview with 247Sports, Gray discussed his relationship with Notre Dame Senior Analyst Chad Bowden with cornerbacks coach Mike Mickens handling the recruiting amongst the assistants. “It’s all family at Notre Dame,” Gray said. 1COMMENTS While his offer list includes the likes of Ohio State, Oklahoma, USC, Florida and LSU – among about a dozen-and-a-half offers -- the most surprising part of his recruitment is that more upper-level programs aren’t involved with Arizona State, Boston College, Illinois, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas State, Kentucky, Miami, Minnesota and Nebraska joining those listed above. Perhaps the reason his offer list isn’t more extensive is because the Irish are the clear leader. Look for Gray’s decision to become public between now and the end of March. the last line was the most relevant one
"75% of profits from the Irish Players Club will be distributed to the active players involved" I know nothing about this shit but that seems like a low percentage
Glad to be number one right now, but another weird night. Brey just allocates Nate L's minutes across the starters with less rest (average starter played 35 minutes) and essentially goes to a six man rotation ... then no duh when the team gets tired and a 50-41 lead with 10 mins left turns into a 55-54 deficit with 6 mins left. No clue why Sanders/Zona aren't getting any minutes and makes me feel really weird about next year's team if almost anyone who is getting minutes leaves and we haven't even started developing reserves.
Yea, Loy and ISD have said ND can't/won't recruit him now - my guess is it's a combination of academics and knowing he's basically locked up to Iowa like Nwampka was
