My b I haven’t looked at tickets recently. Prices have come down. People are bored with them now I guess. The first few years were $200+ pretty much every game. Season ticket holders are dumping tickets.
Yeah, I was kind of hoping the combo of the long NHL season (and this being towards the end) plus it not being as “new” would help me out a bit. Their first season, I went out there in November and preseason they were picked last and Colorado was second to last. So me and my friend figured, eh both teams will suck and the game is at 3pm on a Friday we’ll find something. Obviously Vegas did not suck and then I found out that “Nevada Day” is a statewide holiday so that was why the game was at 3pm. Needless to say, we just bet on the game and went to El Cortez because they did BOGO drinks during Knights games lol
buddies 40th bday party coming in April. It'll be in Vegas. "What's the best not too pricey pool on the strip" is the current convo in our group chat. (I assume there is no such thing). It's changed since I was last there in '11 (was Flamingo).
They have been trying to sell one of their Strip properties for the last year. I’m surprised they would sell The Flamingo though. Maybe it’s the only one that potential buyers had an interest in.
If you're not wanting to do one of the dayclubs that have famous DJ's perform that cater to 21 year-olds, then Flamingo is a solid option. Largest pool footprint, although not sure if it's the vibe you're going for. Aria has a nice pool if you want something low-key.
MGM lazy River can be great people watching. Cabana if you want some company. Wet republic of you’re going hard.
Park or MGM Grand? Same offer with FB credit on both. Splitting a 4-day trip into 2/2 with Mirage as the first two to max various offers/deals I have available.
didnt think you could use credit from 2 places under the same umbrella without having a couple nights in between
Going MGM Grand. It’s on my list of places to stay at some point and Park doesn’t really interest me all that much.
I actually really like Park MGM. Rooms are hipster-ish. Feels like you are staying in a bed and breakfast in upstate New York in 1947. Love that it’s non smoking, and good food options on site. Close to arena and what not. Depends on what you are into. Wynn/Encore still clubhouse leaders on the strip by a wide margin iyam.
Best Friend is located at Park MGM. Casino seemed approachable but nothing amazing. Lot's of people going to and from T-Mobile arena
Haven’t had the steakhouse. Friend today was saying it was okay but nothing special. Eataly when it’s fully open is cool. Best Friend is good imo.
Park is great for what it is which is a lower to mid tier hotel. Compared to Caesars equal offerings it’s pretty good.
Just got back from Super Bowl weekend for my brother-in-law's bachelor party. Always a good time. Quick thoughts: - Legal Weed is a gamechanger. - Wynn brunch buffet still awesome. - http://downtownterracelv.com/ this place in Old Vegas was awesome/reasonably priced for brunch. Weird about reservations, so make em if you go. - El Cortez had some of the best odds/table minimum combinations. - Saturday night on strip $50 craps was the norm, a jump from $15 on Thursday. - Gold Spike SuperBowl party was $140 including tip. All you can eat/drink. - 3:2 Blackjack is a thing of the past unless playing in high roller rooms. Everything 6:5. - Booked a tee time using https://www.teetimesusa.com/vegas and the wankers didn't tell the course we had requested clubs. So, only was able to play 14/18 holes bc had to wait 30 minutes for clubs. - Appreciate Whoever said renting the limo for airport transportation. It's a little more expensive, but they'll stop for you and it covers transportation to and from LAS. - Toured Raider stadium. Pretty damn impressive. Can't wait until they host CFP and Final Fours. All in all, great trip. Thanks for the rec's in the thread.
I watched the 28-3 Falcon meltdown with a pats fan at Gold Spike last time I was there for super bowl weekend. It was a ride. Bunch of weirdos in Seahawks jerseys there too. Didn’t pay a dime because I know people at the spike.
I honestly stopped caring about BJ rules a long time ago. You can be dealt a BJ around 4% of the time on a given hand so let’s say you play $100 a hand you’re looking at a house edge difference of maybe 2.5% from a perfect game to a bad one over the course of a weekend that’s like $200 or 2 hands. Same with resort fees everyone bitches about. $39/night is annoying, but it’s all relative when you’re risking $50 or more in a given minute.
Yeah, I don't care about that as much as the $50 table minimum for craps. Essentially, if I get BJ, I'm using the money to tip the dealer or have the dealer play the next hand with me.
I havent played craps the last few times I’ve been in vegas bc everything on strip seems to be $50 min now and Its just more stress than fun if Im exposed $250-$500 a roll. I should go downtown next time I’m there. Can you still find $5-$10 mins down there on a weekend night?
Bitching about resort fees is like NFL season ticket holders bitching about the price of preseason games. Would you rather get a room for $180 a night and pay $39 in resort fees or would you rather pay $219 a night with no resort fees. It doesn't fucking matter.
I almost exclusively go Sun-Thurs. Always have. It’s just so much more affordable for me. I’ll take sub-100 and comped rooms with 10-25 tables for 5 days over $300+ rooms and 50-100 tables for 2 days 9/10 times.
i've had fun with the roll to win digital craps tables at PH and Flamingo. $5 or $10 pass line, although not as many odds you can go behind the pass as a normal table. https://www.casino.org/vitalvegas/b...ll-to-win-craps-arrives-at-harrahs-las-vegas/
Electronic is fine. The best part, however, is when you win on the table and they give you big stacks of chips and I’m like *gasp* “pour moi?” Its fun.
$50 is not the standard min. He went super bowl weekend. I will say $25 min was far more common than $15 min when I went in September.
One thing that is crazy to me is how Caesar’s is always running at the same price point as Bellagio, Cosmo, and the like, but the base level Caesar’s accommodations seem vastly below those of the others. Paying for the logo.
$5 minimum craps is tough to find even on Fremont St. $10 at the Cal or Cortez on a Tuesday? for sure. Even Circa has $15 craps on off nights.
Paying for center strip and all its amenities on the property. But their basic forum tower room sucks Dick.
I think so, but it’s now a mid-level property as far as rooms go. I generally don’t put a whole lot of stock into the property amenities because I’m generally out and about anyway. It’s pretty massive and has a lot of stuff. On a related note, I got a better offer for 4 nights at Aria, so I’m doing that instead of splitting mirage and MGM.
It’s kinda like Caesers in that it’s so big they don’t want you to leave. It’s not a very walker friendly location.
As others have said, it’s solid and massive. If you dont mind walking a lot just to get to strip or only really want to gamble where you’re staying, it’s a good option. I prefer NYNY which is a bit cheaper but smaller. MGM has a great pool if youre going during pool season though. If money/casino loyalty club is no issue, stay at Cosmo. Beyond that, I find most others to be in about the same tier (aside from the super cheap ones to avoid).
