Sam’s been good. Need another pass catcher to step up. I guess that’s Terrace Marshall Is Shi Smith still hurt? (Steve Smith 2.0)
I like the logic, and love the front office making the move. Hopefully it works out and a prove it year Gilmore is lockdown.
We should beat the Eagles but missing CMC, Shaq, and having to shuffle the OL won’t make it easy. Moton at LT can’t be worse than Irving.
What happened to the defense? They went from best in the nfl to hot knife through butter Has Gilmore been playing? Don’t feel like I’ve seen him out there
Potentially controversially take: I have no problem with Rhule and I think the problems of this organization are related to Teppy boy's need to have his voice heard.
I mean in all likelihood he gets fired midway through next year and we try again, but I don't think firing him this offseason would have been the right move.
Very controversial, I’m not sure what you see in him. It is Tepper’s fault that Rhule has as much say as he does in the organization. I don’t think you can blame new guy Fitterer for how this staff and roster has been assembled while letting Rhule off the hook, not to mention his shitty performance as a coach.
We'll see, but my hunch is the next two HCs have similar issues. QB-HC combo is so essential and we've had some really horrible QBs in the 2 years Rhule has been here. Not excusing it because he's been the guy signing off on those decisions, but it is what it is.
Since drafting Cam in 2011, they’ve drafted 10 OL in 11 years as follows: 2011 - 6th and 7th rd 2012 - 2nd rd 2013 - 4th rd 2014 - 3rd rd 2015 - 4th rd 2016 - 0 2017 - 2nd rd 2018 - 0 2019 - 2nd and 6th 2020 - 0 2021 - 3rd rd We somehow cobbled together an above average OL for Cam in 2015 and had an amazing season, and have just refused to invest any draft capital to try to develop an OL worth a shit since then. This trend follows 2 different owners, 2 head coaches, and 3(?) GMs. We won’t be any good until we fix this disaster of an OL. No one could succeed with this dog shit OL we put out there year after year. I don’t really know how much say Rhule has, or what the dynamics are between he, Tepper and the GM. If Rhule is now making the ultimate decision to continue to try to put together patchwork OL, then he can go on to Michigan. If it’s mostly Tepper/GM, then I’m not confident a coaching change can fix our problems. Obviously we’ve had shitty QB play behind that shitty OL play, so it’s more than just one position group. I’ve just been pissed at our lack of putting any effort into our OL, especially when we had a generational talent at QB. /rant
It was Rhule from what I’ve read. Seems like Rhule has a ton of influence over personnel choices. if he dips to Michigan, more power to him, would be impressive to get that job after he’s failed so badly here
I will drive to Charlotte, help him pack, drive to Ann Arbor and unload his shit all for free if it means getting him away from the Panthers.
My issue is I struggle to point to much of anything that I could count as a credit or a positive in Rhule’s column.
Man ... I just don't think that was Rhule's idea. Someone raised a fair point that I think he had to sign off on these ideas, but I get the impression that Tepper is very much dipping his hands into the QB spot in particular.
I can’t wait for Tepper to hold Charlotte hostage when he threatens to move the team if they won’t give him a $billion for a new stadium. Public-private stadiums are such shit deals in the first place, but it’s going to be especially cringy with the richest owner in the league.
They’re working their way through a pandemic and have higher priorities than funding a billionaires practice facility perhaps
Not just any billionaire either. He’s worth like $5B more than Jerry Jones, who is the 2nd richest owner. Tepper could sneeze and pay for the facility with the handkerchief he used to wipe his nose.
