I bought an equivalent model at Bass Pro. Probably about double the cost. Fast forward to end of story, returned it 2 days later covered in meat and got my money back. It sucked so bad.
What do rent to own retailers like Aaron’s, Rent a Center, etc offer grill wise? That’s about the only business I would say there is some sort of comparability.
Traeger teasing a "huge announcement" today. It's gonna be this. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Traeger-Traeger-Timberline-XL-Wood-Pellet-Grill-TBB01RLG/318112137 $3,800
I appreciated the third picture/video on that description. Apparently this thing can cook pizza and ribs at the same time. Ground breaking.
Those guys are relentless. Most of the "new" features they've put in are existing features on other pellet grills, but they outspend everybody in marketing by 10x and have built such a cult following that they'll get credit for creating all of them
Wife wants a smoker she can use and she's just not ever going to use the XL egg. We started looking at the small Traeger Ranger but then started looking at the Timberline and the Yoder. Is there a general consensus on which one is better? The Yoder YS480S competition is the one I looked at bc I like the big wheels to be able to move it around. Could store it under patio and wheel it out to use. Egg is built it on a kitchen with a hood but a pellet would need to be able to be moved.
I was watching a video of his yesterday and he said "If you follow Clay Travis on Twitter, you saw..."
Not knowing much about them, what makes it better? Build quality? It's cheaper than the new Timberline too. The cleanup and the side burner are nice on the Timberline though.
While not surprising it’s still disappointing (if true). Not gonna lie, it’s hard being a bbq libtard. I had to stop shopping at the best priced bbq shop in town because they are open and vocal RWNJs. Now I have to avoid Meat Church too. My bbq world is getting smaller by the day.
For you Guga Foods fans, he made a “death” brisket and you wouldn’t believe what his secret ingredient was. I bet that nobody itt could top this brisket. https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cbqf0OQLdo9/?utm_medium=copy_link
It’s true, libs hate bbq and the emissions put off from burning charcoal and wood. Soon we will be reduced to comparing flavors of liquid smoke and optimum microwave settings to cook our meat.
I’ve seen it too. It means When We Grill for 1 We Grill for All. It’s a hashtag for inclusivity in the bbq community.
They outspend every other grill or outdoor cooking brand combined in marketing, probably by 2x. the second their live announcement ended, dozens of "influencer" and media videos, ads, paid promotions etc all went live immediately. Their products are whatever, but they are something else on the marketing side.
And it seems to work. Any conversation with someone less into bbq than the folks in here and Traeger will be referenced as if it is the only and obvious choice for a smoker
Traeger is the de facto product for the non enthusiast imo. The brand is ubiquitous to the “I want to smoke a turkey for thanksgiving” crowd.
Oh it absolutely does. They've gone from <$100M to over $700M in like 5 years and they've done it without ever having the best product spec or really anything innovative.
That's what wears me out about em They literally waited for the patent(s) to expire and attacked the market like nobody had ever heard of
