The people next to me who moved down from up north thought they could keep chickens. There are several hawks you can see flying about, owls you can hear, and while the pack of 20 coyotes are new, they aren't quiet about it. I've picked up their old blind terrier several times and carried him back to them. Like, keep the old boy inside or on a leash. Or he will get lost and eaten.
Knoxville. But legally outside the "city" and in a wooded area. We got loads of turkeys too. I don't think you or I'd want to eat them though.
Yeah not knowing what a possum (an opposum?) looks like isn’t a being from the North thing. It’s a being a dumb person thing
We get people moving out here from less than an hour away who post shit like that all the time Moat of the replies are something along the lines of "welcome to the country"
If they had that reaction for an opossum then I can’t wait till they come across any of the various reptiles. Will probably shit their pants.
I thought she was like most of my other neighbors and from the east coast but she's from Vegas. Most are from VA, NJ, NY, etc. Over 80% of my neighborhood is people from out of state.
When we moved to SC from southern AZ, people called my daughter a Yankee. We had actually moved a bit north.
seemingly a ton of my HS graduating class in upstate NY ended up moving to NC/VA/GA pretty common move and why NY lost an elector this census
Only the people who remain behind. It’s what they have to tell themselves when it’s blizzarding in February while we in god’s country get to play golf in 75 degree weather
Being a Michigander, I would be miserable living somewhere that doesn’t get snow. I love the fall and skiing all winter. But lots of people can’t wait to get the hell out of here and move South, either. Somewhere like Reno might be a perfect compromise for me, and I was looking around a bit when the pandemic started, but prices out there have almost doubled since. Still not as bad as the California side though, and I always have it in the back of my mind that I wouldn’t mind moving out there.
