Solomon Hughes played basketball at Cal, so he knows what he's doing To long-time Cal sports fans Hughes was a member of the Golden Bears’ basketball teams from 1998 to 2002, starting 52 games for Cal, which won 20 games three times in his four-year career under head coach Ben Braun, reached the NCAA tournament twice and won the 1999 NIT. He led the Pac-10 in field-goal percentage in 2001 (62.9%), ranks third alltime in Cal career field-goal percentage (57.9%), and was captain of the team. Hughes helped the Bears win a first-round NCAA tournament game against Penn in 2002 when he scored eight points and blocked three shots and played professionally, including a stint with the Harlem Globetrotters.
yes, but I’m sure you’ve noticed that up until the Celtics game most of the shots are different angles of the same play from ep 2 but it’s still good considering. it’s not really a basketball show - it’s a show about basketball
I don’t watch the show for basketball scenes but typical Celtics fan trying to find the negative in the show after an episode ends with the team chanting “Fuck Boston” Fuck Boston
Jerry West doesn't come off bad to me. He seems like every type of normal competitive sports guy I've ever seen.
https://www.si.com/nba/2022/04/20/jerry-west-requests-apology-depiction-hbo-winning-time Jerry disagrees and Kareem thinks the show sucks, fwiw.
It says that they nailed their characters since they are acting just like them Jerry West is a competitive egomaniac of course he doesnt like it when it shows him being anything but the best and Kareem hates everything that brings people joy
also Magic probably hates that it shows him fucking everything that has a vagina and that he passed on Nike it messes with his perfect manicured image he has made for himself
I do like the show a lot, I guess I just think they could make it phenomenal and also stick to the facts. Or a lot closer to it than they have been. Most of the last episode never happened. I think it's weird to take that much dramatic liberty with this particular subject matter. https://www.pajiba.com/tv_reviews/w...magic-johnson-faced-larry-bird-in-the-nba.php I think it is at least a tad bit telling that everyone depicted, down to Claire Rothman, seems unhappy with their depiction.
No one likes their reflection in the mirror, especially if its ugly and they are a narcissist worth millions of dollars
Loved the bit with Bird telling the defenders what he was going to do to them, and them still not being able to stop it lol Also, just wanted to say that I love the song played in the intro. Side note: Paul Westhead is the one who should be upset by his portrayal.
I understand that grief is nature's most powerful aphrodisiac, but Jerry Buss groping the nurse was a little unsettling.
Let’s face it guys… I’ve been saying it for years. Kids today look younger than we did at the same age. Just roll with it
Just catching up, this show is so good Paul Revere shoulda slept in. Let the British burn this fuckhole to the ground
Then the scene was successful. Their intent was to make you have a reaction. The show is fictionalized for that purpose.
