Finished watching Alone (Season 6) on Netflix and am really kind of enjoying it at a show. Started watching an older season... 3 I think on Hulu. Seems like reality tv without the extra bs. Maybe I'm just naive to it in this show but so far it's pretty good.
Not sure where you can find this besides torrance but Condor should be watched. Really fun spy thriller.
I ripped through Red Oaks on Prime last week. only three seasons with the last one being I think six episodes. it's not very long, and it's nothing spectacular, but I enjoyed it.
It was pretty well loved in the defunct amazon originals thread https://www.the-mainboard.com/index.php?threads/amazon-originals.165756
https://www.the-mainboard.com/index...-their-own-thread.121079/page-7#post-16268252 I'm in the right thread.
Just finished Home for Christmas on Netflix. Two seasons with 12 episodes total. Wife liked it more than I did, but I did like it. Norwegian Bridget Jones Ladies. This is a tram.
Currently watching a French show called Braquo. It's pretty fucking good. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1429534/ This crime-drama follows a group of Paris police officers who live at the edge of the law, often using violence and intimidation to get the job done. The officers' lives change when their squad leader, who had been falsely accused of corruption, commits suicide. When they start an investigation in order to clear his name, the officers realize that the police department itself stands in their way. The officers, seeking justice and facing danger from all sides, must turn their backs on the laws that they were sworn to enforce in order to uncover the truth.
We discovered Call My Agent! yesterday morning, French show about a talent agency in Paris. Very good. On Netflix.
Watching 30 Coins on HBO Max. Spanish supernatural thriller, pretty good so far through three episodes.
Never seen it mentioned but Vida on Starz was a great tv show. Maybe too small of a niche to be popular on here but it’s only 22 episodes and really pulls you. It’s queer Latinx show so keep that in mind.
Watched the premiere of Sam Jay's new series on HBOMAX last night. A number of the producers are standup comedians/podcast hosts that I like (Jak Knight, Langston Kerman, Zack Fox). Check it out.
Lisa Kudrow's "Web Therapy" is years old now, but shit is really funny. She plays a "therapist" (with no professional credentials) who starts up a business doing teletherapy, and the show is for the most part her in these webcam sessions with her patients who are usually guest stars. It's been funny watching a show that focused on the whole "zoom" thing before we all had zoom become part of our everyday lexicon. It's pretty classic Kudrow, a dim character who doesn't know how dim they are, but we're definitely not talking Pheobe here, and she's hilarious when she knows the other character is shitting on her (frequent occurrence). Highly recommend one of the eps with Meryl Streep who is amazing playing a "conservative" woman who runs a "treatment facility" ...for gay husbands (who have wives)
Loved Vida, but at some point it went behind a Starz paywall so we didn't get to see the most recent episodes Just finished Borgen. Who knew Danish coalition politics could be so interesting
Starz shows were free for us for a couple years, then they went behind a paywall. It was through Comcast, whose premium channel lineup changes from time to time I think Vida and Counterpart were the only Starz shows we've ever watched
Watched Carlos this week it's a 3 part series on Ilych Ramirez Sanchez. Obviously it isn't 100% accurate and I think they made him way more charismatic than reality but pretty entertaining. The OPEC raid is pretty interesting stuff.
I'm on season 2 of Pretty Little Liars and I've never seen a show with so many HS girls hooking up with adults. edit: Okay there's really only 2
Our Planet on Netflix is also enjoyable. covers the big different habitats in the world, the animals in them, and humans' impact on them. David Attenborough is the narrator.
I like all shows like this, but I always lose track of what I've already seen. So many shows with similar names
