Mrs constant came into the bedroom with a puzzled look last night, looked up at the tv and said, "I thought that's what I heard... why are you watching this?" "Because I fucking love Bluey. Why should I have to wait for the gkids to be over?"
We videoed Roo reacting to that a year ago, when it said Bluey instead of Bingo she had no idea what to do.
Is Flat Pack one of the best episodes in the history of animation or the best episode in the history of animation?
Definitely up there. On a side note, whomever composes the music is amazing. That shit always hits the mark.
Interesting article on the shows creation. https://amp.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2022/jun/11/bluey-australian-children-cartoon-joe-brumm
I like how he basically wanted to copy peppa pig, but the dad was such a moron he decided to make bandit such a baller.
Yeah I guess I never really thought they weren’t. In hindsight, I guess I could see the confusion though.
It’s just because of typical cartoons where the boy looks like the dad and the girl looks like the mom. Or that blue means boy. So the blue feels like a cue but it’s really just a little girl who looks like her dad. And it’s just cool how they thought of and considered things like that.
My kids have been making me play bits like Hospital and Keepy Uppy and Hotel. I'm no Bandit, but he's a good role model for me.
Bandit is an impossible standard. I was talking to a friend about this. He said that Bandit made him feel like a bad dad, but also like it was OK that he was a bad dad.
Is your son into this show? My kid just isn’t feeling it and I know they’re the same age. He’s gotten really into Spidey and Paw Patrol but just doesn’t pay attention to Bluey.
I feel like this stuff is completely random in terms of what kids like. Ex. If I put on Encanto, my son will sit and watch quietly for the next 45 minutes. Any other Disney movie he won't give the time of day.
Oh my kid is obsessed with Encanto. When the surface pressure song comes on he flips out and starts dancing and singing it. He’s into pretty much all the Pixar movies.
We only let him watch the C-Word in the morning. We tell him they are in bed when he comes home wanting to watch it.
We phased away from Cocomelon (turned kids into zombies) but Amazon Prime Video doesn't mind recommending every low-animation-quality-knock off it can get its hands on. My kids love LEGO Ninjago as far as their ninja fix.
My wife told me the other day, you know you are going to do this every time you take them to the pool solo.
There’s a Lulu kids one that’s pretty creepy as well. We don’t mind the C-Word because he actively participates while watching it by singing and dancing and saying his ABC’s etc but it’s so fucking annoying with the rhyme scheme of all the songs.
that's also a great episode, but i'm talking about the swimming lessons episode where Bandit gets into a tough spot and when cornered, rolls into the pool leaving mom with the bag.
Watching Chickenrat this morning and am straight laughing at Chili asking Bingo where she last had Floppy, and Bingo going “I don’t know…” then being asked what did she do before getting ready for bed and saying “I don’t know…” was perfect.
My 11 month old daughter loves the shit out of this part of the show Dances like crazy when they are singing the names, and so do I.
