Vegas sheds money trading Dadonov and then uses the Weber contract to max out their LTIR threshold when the regular season starts.
How did the panthers make so many great roster moves over the last few years and just lose their minds on an obvious bad deal, here I don't even know what they can do here. Lets say they make Knight the starter and eat 5 to get someone to take Bob. They'd still have to give up someone good going the other way and then pay someone else 2-3 to get a halfway decent backup. Is that even worth it?
Funny how high all of our hopes were for ESPN's hockey coverage and it just turned out to be a bunch of dudes sitting around tables eating chicken parm
It’s been what I expected which is similar to what it was when they previously held the rights, though ESPN+ having like every game is an obvious upgrade. Being on ESPN is a positive because they’ll promote and cover the sport now. My only critique is not having a like half hour pregame show before games for the conference finals and final.
It’s not. It makes no sense to retain 50% because you are going to need to pay an established 1B type backup 2.5 3 million AAV. So you are now paying roughly 8 million for a much worse goalie than Bob.
