christ almighty some well displayed dumb here https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.da...es-involved-pile-interstate-Pennsylvania.html
That guy just hanging out by his car early on not realizing he could get fucking killed. He is also an idiot. He got lucky as hell surging that. But people driving in these conditions and turning their vehicles into death machines is scary AF.
But they have their on 36” of concrete with a painted yellow line separating them from cars and a bike painted in it. How can it not be safe?
Feels like a lot of this could be stopped if insurance companies stopped covering it. "Oh, you were drag racing? Tough shit"
Lol, you think that dumbass driving that car was thinking about whether his insurance was gunna cover his inability to drive his own car?
This might help to explain to other users on this board why I have a hard time giving car drivers the benefit of the doubt in cycling incident situations. I live in a city that completely disregards bikes as a form of transportation.

I almost got hit while I was crossing a crosswalk on a run. Lady was at a 4 way stop and was looking at her phone and didn’t even see me. Had to sprint and jump to get out of the way. About had a flat pelinis. As an aside I felt like I was in Final Destination because within 3-4 days that happened, my entire family almost got rear ended by a semi going 50+ (went through a red light and had to switch lanes at the last second to not hit us because he wasn’t paying attention) and then got hit by a guy who ran a red light when I was turning on a green arrow. Was going. 50+ until he braked and I stopped fast enough to get hit in the front driver quarter panel and not directly on my door. Was on my fucking toes for a while after that.
https://www.denverpost.com/2022/06/13/weld-county-fatal-crashes/ 4 people died in two separate accidents just a few miles from each other and just like an hour apart yesterday on I-25 near Denver.
I, a person who has been in exactly one fight in his life, have almost gotten into three fights over the last 6 months over assholes nearly running me over as a pedestrian. every time is the same, some dipshit blows through a crosswalk, I flip them off, they pull over and talk shit. Latest one literally circled the block to find me and challenged me to a fight. It’s fucking insane right now.
I drive on 294 outside of Chicago 8-10 times a week. It's solid construction for about 20 miles. It goes down from 4 lanes to 2 lanes at about 4-5 spots and there's always a bad slow down. I've seen 3 times in the last month where people cross over into the construction side where there are people working to pass everyone while going 80 mph. Like half a lane away from workers on the wrong side of the construction barriers. They're going to kill someone just to save 15 minutes.
Nine years ago today a lady pulled right in front of me turning left into a parking lot. I’d just put on the red bar tape and it left a red smear on her rear passenger fender. in fairness to her, she paid my local bike shop for all repairs and replacement components.
That Minn Ave intersection is so incredibly dangerous (it's been known for decades) and this city just refuses to do anything about it because city officials have utter contempt for Wards 7 and 8. 7th St's cycling infrastructure is mostly worn off paint and cars don't even slow down at red lights after midnight
Jesus fuckingchrist. Witnesses say they crosswalk flashers were blinking and other cars were stopped for the kid Fuck that driver and fuck that cop
Am I taking crazy pills? Failure to yield to pedestrians is absolutely reckless. Our priorities are so fucked.
Well hopefully a civil suit jury will think differently. Not that it will bring that family their kid back.
I wont cross an intersection until I see all lanes of the the oncoming vehicle come to a stop. I'm not going to die because some fat fuck need to look down at their Facebook.
