Just to be a buzzkill, they can resign Bridges if they want even with Hayward. They just would be up against (possibly over) the tax, and people aren't sold if they'll go over it to keep Bridges. I think they just guaranteed Plumlee's last year, so maybe they aren't as afraid of that as people think?
This reminds me of draft night in 2020 when we all loved Weaver for his wheeling and dealing. Then we found out about the 4 second round picks along with Kennard for Bey. And then we made 50 moves in the next three days that landed us Plumlee, Grant and a bunch of dead cap, and we all turned on him instantly.
It shouldn't, but it does for a lot of teams. And Charlotte is generally considered very cheap by NBA standards.
No one knows. I’m thinking no, because Charlotte apparently got four seconds back but there are like no details available.
I was fine with most of what Weaver did in 2020 until he started waiving and stretching everything he got his hands on. I liked the Grant and Plumless deals.
I liked that he tore the whole thing down to the studs, got a break with the number 1 pick last year and keeps building this team on youth. The foundation is coming together, now we need to see the finished product in a year or two.
Silver just announced Duren traded to Knicks so it must be 2 seperate trades. That for duren and then duren and kemba for 2025 1st
Minott is a really weird prospect. Almost everyone has him in the 30s, but Hollinger had him ranked 10th or 11th, I think. Justin Lewis from Marquette is my favorite guy in this range, but I'm kind of expecting us to dump the pick for future 2s.
We can't technically trade for Duren until after July 1 because we're taking on a salary. It's part of what makes the draft so stupid.
Our protected 1st next year got moved again, Knicks have it now OKC traded it as part of trade for 11
7. Jaden Ivey (20), G, 6-4, Purdue I’m of the belief that everyone in Detroit likes Ivey, but to varying capacities. You’ll see Ivey higher on other people’s boards and mock drafts than here, and that’s understandable. He can play either guard spot, which makes him, at least, a potential fit next to Cunningham. He’s an explosive athlete. The shooting, too, might be legit. However, I do have real concerns about his decision-making and playmaking in the half court. Defensively, there’s a lot to be desired. Overall, Ivey probably won’t be available if Detroit is picking seventh. Most people I talk to have him going in the top five. My gut feeling is that the Pistons would be ecstatic if they’re picking seventh and Ivey is available. Maybe even sixth, too. But if Detroit is selecting fourth or fifth, I’m not yet sold that Ivey is the choice.
