It was a ruling that used the 14th amendment to allow the practice under a right to privacy. It did not state abortion as a Constitutional right. It attempted to provide a trimester based framework balancing the rights of the mother's privacy vs. the rights of the unborn. It is ambiguous and imo a judicial overreach. With Roe v. Wade overturned, it's now a legislative issue that can be debated and made into law. I hope that Congress will pass basic guidelines for safe and legal abortions that the states have to abide.

Agreed to a certain extent. However, the 2nd amendment does explicitly say "keep and bear arms". Again, I hope that congress can build off the recent gun bill and use it to further address the root causes of gun violence. That's a different argument though.
