Looking of home office chair recommendations. Always been partial to the big comfy leather ones but I don’t always wear pants so the mesh ergonomic ones might work as well
This is the one I have and like it a lot. https://store.hermanmiller.com/gami...xFH3VgTb2z15gEoJZKkaAg-OEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
$1,400 is way outta my price range. I’m not looking to spend over $200. Only reason I need a new is the wheels are literally falling off the one I have now.
I went with this because I needed something pretty firm for my back and it's been solid so far. I do wonder if I should have sprung a bit more and gone with a Herman Miller though https://secretlab.co/products/titan-evo-2022-series
Doesn’t meet your requirements but we got these when we bought their desks. It is actually very good chair https://www.upliftdesk.com/vert-ergonomic-chair-by-uplift-desk/
I have a cheap Amazon one for my office but the arms are too low and don’t adjust up/down so definitely not one I’d reccommend. Wife has this one, a little over your budget but great chair. https://www.staples.com/Tempur-Pedi...EWxF1oe0l_4IS9iX4WjvG6r0E02dEbwgaAsL9EALw_wcB
I recently got a secret lab titan evo 2022 in soft weave. They run about $500, but it’s a high quality product. They also stand behind their warranty. My wife got one of their chairs about 2 years ago when we went wfh and has twice broken pieces off by sitting sideways and like somehow jamming her foot into an armrest until a piece breaks. Definitely not a warranty issue, but they’ve twice sent me a seat base at no cost. Big fan of the magnetic memory foam pillow and recline feature. https://secretlab.co/products/titan-evo-2022-series
Always love when someone says “hey I need a quality office chair” then they immediately say “well I don’t want to spend over $200”. Like clockwork.
Never said I need a quality office chair. Just need an office chair but $1000 for one is insane to me even if I had a separate office in my own house. Not hating. Do you, but I just can’t do it as I don’t see the point. It’s just where I sit for work and no one ever sees me.
I’m not spending four figures on something I sit in bareass, eat in, spill unknown amount of liquids on and sometimes (more often than not) jerk it in. Turned away from my monitors of course.
This is the thread where Eli Porter suggested starting with an Italian leather worker for a pair of EDC factory floor walkers
Remember that you’re sitting on that bad boy for a lot of hours a day and it has effects on your body that can significantly impact how well your body ages.
I have this and like it a lot. Generally sit in it reclined with my feet up though. They may have it at staples for you to test drive. Under 200 bucks. https://www.staples.com/union-scale...czeEkK_rP_fE_TEAJucjiniG5BniRlUsaAg56EALw_wcB
Bought my first pair of Birkenstocks today. My current rainbows turned 8 this spring and they’re probably about one more warm season away from retirement. I welcome your fire takes about them.
In order to get the full benefit and effect out of these bad boys you need to sport them with black compression socks
You poors only drop four figures on your office chairs? You spend more time sitting in that chair than any other chair you’ll ever own my buttocks won’t sniff an office chair unless it’s at least 6 figs
given hoss’ posting history he could add a bucket or a second trash can and just shit while he sits and works too. would solve two problems
You got a night stand? Could put it there. Tv in the room that you can slave the signal too? Come on man, you need to be motivated
What’s funny is this came up a couple of weeks ago about me not having a laptop. The other 2 guys I work with have them now and we are hiring a new person and my boss request her and I both have laptops. Our notoriously lazy IT guy said no because he didn’t feel like messing with having to go into the office and get all my stuff set up on one. I’m supposed to go to the office next month to meet our boss and work a couple days while he’s in town so I gotta lug the desktop and monitors up there instead of just being able to bring a laptop. Fucking hate our IT guy.
Yeah I need a new desk as well. I’ve been wfh since I started back in at the end of ‘20 and up until a few months ago it was always up in the air on whether we’d be going back into the office or not. Now it’s official wfh with our new hires being in other states, even my boss is in another state, and just occasionally having to maybe go into the office like I mentioned if my boss is in town. So I didn’t want to really spend any money on office stuff. Someone mentioned working from their dinning room table and that’s what I was doing until my in-laws dragged the desk and chair out of their storage and brought it with them when they visited.
I just started using that a few days ago and was another reason I posted for chair options. My ass cheeks kept going numb because the chair’s actual cushion is non-existent and I was just sitting on the plastic frame basically. I have no idea how old the chair actually is
He’s the one who called the IT guy about it lol. That’s how brazen this dude is. I didn’t request it, my boss directly requested it for me and the IT guy called me and asked if my desktop was broken yada yada then gave me the whole it’s such a hassle. I told him to take it up with my boss as he’s the one who wants me to have it and I let my boss know. Just checked my calls and this all happened 8 days ago so maybe they’re working on it but I haven’t heard shit
"No, just breakdown your desktop and bring it into the office" is peak laziness. sounds like scene from workaholics or something.
