I know Bam isn't a possibility in a Nets trade but I think a lot of Heat fans views on him have changed in a year. His offensive mindset seems to make him a #3 option at best on that end of the floor. He's a DPOY candidate on the other end, capable of staying in front of guards and playing against basically everyone but Embiid down low. I don't think anyone in Miami is untouchable for KD.
Why is everyone acting like our picks are going to be guaranteed lotto picks? We're obviously getting value back for the best player on the planet. We're not going to be complete horseshit. I hope.
Logic would indicate yes but the way things have gone for the Nets I'm not so sure. I would say it depends on what happens with Kyrie.
that value on court is not likely to be anywhere near KD level and will likely include picks. Ben Simmons and Kyrie are complete and total question marks. it's pretty conceivable that the Nets are bad to rebuild bad in the near future.
There's no way BKN doesn't look to jettison Kyrie if KD is gone, I'd think. Simmons might never play again and even if you got back a slew of current players, teaming them with just Kyrie maybe gets you to the play-in? If you're BKN, you take the most value in young players and picks you can get, sit anyone with talent halfway through the year and hope for the lottery gods to forgive your willingness to tie your franchise to Kyrie.
Who knows but not buying those rocket picks being some gold mine. Sure they'll be a lot better than people expected when trade was made, but I'm sure Nets going to get some players back who can play and will still try to compete. They have no incentive to completely tank, so they will probably get stuck in play in purgatory to lower seed in playoffs for a while depending on the return
Agreed that the value on the court won't be KD level. But we're talking about trading a top 3 player in the league on a 4 year deal. We're getting value back 100%. This isn't the same as the Pierce/Garnett/Terry debacle.
If someone beats that trade for KD offer it was never worth bringing him in the first place. Him, Booker and old man CP3 can't get through the west themselves.
Trading Booker for Durant doesn't change Phoenix's ceiling imo. Every year, Durant becomes less of the willing, capable defender he was in GS and he's 8 years older than Booker.
