idk, seems like playing games (if the story was true) to an unhealthy amount is bad. like, lots of nba players and lots of people eat candy. but eating dwight howard levels of candy is probably something that gives you pause and want to check on. personally, i think the ayton delay is mostly due to everyone figuring out a S&T and that taking a back seat to Durant.
My position on rudy gobert has always been, put some elite wing defenders around him and see what you got in the playoffs. return haul aside, Jazz are crazy to keep Mitchell. He wants out of SLC ASAP
People love to blame stuff on video games and it is normally dumb. But maybe get more than two hours sleep a night
We've already seen multiple teams give up 3+ firsts to acquire someone. Durant's going to bring more than that (with players + picks). I wonder how many teams are out there willing to make that kind of move in one offseason. Four deals of that nature in one summer seems crazy, but maybe I'm forgetting other offseasons like it.
Wolken isn't the first guy to bring up the video game thing with Ayton. I never read the story, but have seen people bring it up (some as a joke, some more serious) over the last few months. I think the problem is that no one has any clue why Phoenix is so willing to just dump a guy who was the second or third best player on a Finals team at age 22 one year ago. it can't only be that Sarver is cheap, right? So people are looking for any and every reason to possibly blow out of proportion to make it make sense. And right now, the video game thing and extrapolating that into him being immature and/or unprofessional is about all some people can come up with for this thing that feels kind of unprecedented. **to be clear, I give zero fucks about Ayton's video game habits.
Dunno, but at times he lined up on D vs Giannis in the 2021 finals and didnt embarass himself. At age 22. Thatd be enough for me If im Book, Im putting my foot down
I don't remember which but one of my nba podcasts was talking about how radical Utah's Gobert experiment has been the past few years Basically, take the best defensive player in the league and surround him with 4 other guys who are minus defenders and see what happens. They ended up being a team that you don't really want to play in the playoffs but they don't really scare you either
If they get anything from the first round picks, I would guess it'll be on the defensive end. KCP and Brown in trade/FA is about as good as you could have asked for a week ago.
There's a difference between liking playing video games and liking playing video games to the point that you regularly get a detrimental amount of sleep in order to play them.
I dont care to keep going on this but people using video games to turn ayton into baker mayfield is so transparent This is sarver being sarver. Dont carry the water for the worst owner in the league
i sleep 20 mins a night. all my free time is spent grinding through years 45-50 of my mvp 05 dynasty. it’s called being built different
Zion has much more upside imo. The foot injury is pretty spooky though. Really have no idea what Ayton looks like as the main guy.
Ayton's touch around the rim is so good that I don't have any doubt he's a 20-25 PPG scorer with a bigger role. Combine that with his defense at his age already and that's a very valuable player. I have some pretty big questions about his passing and creating for others in a bigger role. I know his role the last couple years was basically just finishing plays, but he almost never passes right now, and it wasn't a strength of his before Paul got there, either.
weird that a max contract stip would cause two players of disparate impact and talent levels to get paid the same salary
Ayton showed 3pt prowess that hasn't translated to NBA yet. That's the only way he gets to the elite level that that contract dictates.
This is stupid. Bridges and Ayton is already way better than anything else they’d get. Suns shouldn’t even give both up.
Beyond the part (that we've covered) where negotiations having to include Booker would be against the rules of the NBA, I'm sure this Pacers podcaster has his finger on the pulse of things across the country while living in the thriving hub of basketball, Podunk, Indiana.
