No doubt. Probably been said earlier itt, and maybe by me, but check out the show Banshee. Thought Starr was awesome as the lead in that too.
As great a character as butcher is, MM, Frenchie and Kimiko (with zero speaking!) really bring it too. Fab Four of pain and torment
Anyone think the beans Black Noir was eating w some kind of nod to The Watchman? I thought of it right away but couldn’t really come up with the intended symbolism. It’s probably nothing.
he wasn't eating them. he was feeding his animal friends. pouring it on top of uneaten, rotten beans from previous visits.
Between this role and Stranger Things, dare I say Paul Reiser is having a moment. Not sure anyone is asking for it, but let’s get Diner 2 green lit while he’s in the spotlight
Did you watch this week's episode? I thought the little cartoon reenactment of Solider Boy's capture kind of made a clear implication that it is the same person.
The flashback episode to the CIA operation where they showed young Edgar talking to Noir, where he didn’t wear a mask and actually spoke… this episodes cartoon show showed what happened with the superhero group while that big battle in the camp was going on. All we saw originally was a flashforward to the aftermath of the whole thing. Now we know that Noirs head/face was wrecked because Soldier Boy beat it to a pulp.
The show randomly throwing in scenes reminding us of Homelanders almost sexual relationship with milk are hilarious
My two favorite recurring bits are The Deep trying to save a fish and that fish immediately dying and Homelander perving out over milk
I think OG Black Noir is dead and current is about to have revealed to him who he really is by cartoons.
Well, if they’re going to keep the finale from the comics, it’s necessary. I also think Noir is comic noir just with implanted memories.
typically in these superhero shows people take an insane beating and still live. Kimiko has had her neck snapped at least once in this show. Stormfront survived whatever kind of attack Homelanders kid did as a nazi vegetable with one hand. When they originally showed the aftermath of the scene Noir didn't look like he had taken the same type beating that the cartoon Noir did. Just looked like the lower half of his face had been wrecked
as a non-comic reader can someone do a brief synopsis of what happened to Noir in the comics? Are there 2 versions?
I didn't read the comics, but from what I can tell from watching episode recaps on YouTube, Noir's identity turns out to be a pretty big twist/plot point. It's in the first part of his wiki if you want to look. Once you see it you'll know why it's unlikely to be the same identity as in the show.
I thought the spoiler policy on weekly episode shows was that you just don't come into the thread until you've seen the latest episode
Well yeah that's normal but what does that have to do with people talking about future events from the comics?
for the record, I never read the comics and that's why I prefaced my comment with "I could be way off".
