#1 - The quote is from Jake Fischer, not the Pacers podcaster #2 - The quote is from before Booker and the Suns agreed on the supermax #3 - Simmons could have/can theoretically be traded to avoid the designated rookie extension issue All that said, the reason I posted that tweet was to illustrate that the Nets aren't just going to accept a garbage can list of players in a trade and turn into the 2015-2018 Nets again.
You will take just Cam Johnson and a 2nd rounder and you will like it. To points 1, 2, and 3... fair.
Vince Goodwill wrote a few days ago that the Nets would rather waive and stretch Kyrie than have him play next year with them. I don't think they would actually do that, but taking a first rounder or two from LAL to take Russ back makes a lot more sense. Who else would even take him at this point? Maybe Dallas?
I’m glad we have moved off the Kyrie to Dallas shit ShoeGod needs to focus on getting Sexton this offseason Cavs signed Garland so they need to let go of Sexton now
i can't imagine a scenario exists where LAL cares about seth curry vs. joe harris enough to not acquire kyrie and lose russ
It’s my favorite part about this off-season. I also like that Windy is clowning all over Woj recently.
The Nets did everything right over a period of years, changed their culture, opened up cap space, and got Kyrie, KD, and Harden. Now they’re about to watch the Lakers fail upward while paying Russ and Simmons $70 mil
More likely to end up with AD in Chicago, LeBron back in Cleveland or Miami, and Kyrie out of the league next year than the Lakers winning anything.
Watching NBA network free agent frenzy and they showed the highlights of this game. Gregg Anthony said something like this “ a lot of talk of the Kings and Ivey or Murray but early on it looks like they made the right choice.”
I wouldn't trade Saddiq Bey for this trio. Miami can throw 10 picks in there with them. How the fuck does anyone think that offer gets you Durant?
If you think Donovan Mitchell is a worthy #1 on a playoff team, it’s not that far of a stretch to think Herro is close behind him. Statistically speaking, they’re super close on a per 36 basis. It’s the reason I think any Mitchell trade that includes Herro is stupid. You’re not changing Miami’s ceiling with that trade.
he is under contract for four more years and is notorious for caring about what people think and his basketball legacy the idea that the nets have to trade him at all much less for anything less than a massive haul is insane kyrie will sit out for a year. kd won’t sit out one much less 3. call his bluff
I should say, I don’t think that’s enough for KD…but I also don’t know that “enough” exists if BKN is really going to honor his request.
Herro is 2 years younger and putting them at equal usage rates, they’re statistically really damn close across the board. Except Herro is measurably better from 3. Mitchell has proven he can be the #1 scorer on a playoff team and Herro hasn’t, except as the lead guy for Miami’s second unit. It’s not outlandish to think more than one NBA GM thinks he can be a 1b option on a playoff team. That said, that report is probably bullshit.
Except that efficiency decreases with increased usage and Mitchell is already a more efficient offensive and defensive player. This is an outlandish claim.
Dont do this Being the #1 assignment of the other teams defensive game plan is a giant step up. Efficiency does not carry over
