Niemeier serving for the match. Niemeier May not pull it out, but I can certainly see her winning one of the majors in her future.
I wonder what her game looks like on a hardcourt. I don’t know much about her, but I assume she’s good to very good on clay at minimum watching her play.
Seems it’s been in front of court from an incident from December. Unfortunate timing, but if he did something shitty… fuck him
And I'm being rough on the kid, I know - he would tried his guts out but wasn't good enough in the end. Just a shame he couldn't finish off from 2 sets up. Good to see Jabeur win through - surely she makes it to the final over Maria.
So here is todays example of shitty youth sports parents. My son and other 12 yo are playing 14U team tennis . They could played 12u, but they dominated it last year and it’s stupid green dot balls and our kids are way past green dot. We have a match today against the 2nd place team. Winner qualifies for the state tourney. Their parent/captain has a 9 year old that’s a good player, but not ready to play experienced good 12s. She has appealed to USTA or MSTA and says two of my players are too good to be playing 14U. I’m forced to sit two kids today until we hear back. Her son lost 4-0 4-0 last we played them. Her kid could play 10U or 12U. Of course our kids will be released for state and we will probably win today anyway, but it’s just pathetic that a parent would do that. No wonder US tennis is behind the rest of the world. 12U still plays green dot and they baby these kids due to parents
Old man rant: Gdamn youth tennis is soft these days. Green dot balls. 4 game sets. None of that shit existed when I was playing youth USTA tourneys back in the day. You played multiple matches a day and best of 3 full sets. Shitty parents were definitely still a thing though.
Its a joke. We have a great youth program and our local HS is 1 or 2 in the state each year. We did 12U tennis last year and it was rough. We didn’t lose a set and I think we lost 2 games the whole season and that included state championships. It was laughable how USTA sets these rules and baby these kids
