Big 12 survived. I wouldn’t call it better than the ACC. They still lost Texas and Oklahoma. The PAC 12 mortally wounded.
Sure. Networks definitely want to pay a conference as the members are looking for life boats off that ship.
ACC will be ok, if they start to fall apart that means the GOR is dead and they can add some AAC and Funbelt teams to get to 16 and still be a good conference
That GOR is going to keep things going for a while. Don’t think the ACC will go anywhere soon. The PAC 12 is dead tho. Be super curious what happens to Oregon/Washington/Stanford in the near term (1-2 years).
If the BIG10 doesn't take UW and Oregon and the 4 corner schools go to the Big12, do they get left out? Seems to be a realistic scenario
So if the six Pac teams head to the Big 12, you’ll see Wazzou and Oregon State head to the MWC with Cal and Stanford going Independent or doing a weird ACC football only thing, right? I can’t see the finances making sense for the ACC to have those two schools for any other sports.
Seems like it. Wonder if that is making the B16 rethink standing pat with just ucla/usc or going after Oregon/Washington
Stanford getting left out would be wild given how many non-major championships they win in all other sports
we’d take Oregon and Washington in a heartbeat if the B1G didn’t and wrap up the best conference road trip destination group in world history
Money is the issue with Oregon/Washington. They won't bring in enough to raise everyone's yearly payout, and may actually decrease it. I've read they've pitched the idea of taking a smaller payout to get in the Big10
Hope the B1G goes after Oregon and Washington. They’re good brands and pair with the 2 west coast schools. Not sure if the money will make it possible tho
isn’t Phil Knight pretty tied to ESPN? have to think that’s a factor when considering the “fox conference” the big 12 is likely to stay with espn and some kind of streaming option imo with the new commissioners NBA background
remember when people were like “enjoy the mountain west ttu and ksu” and we took that personally and then killed a conference
Which league is the best?? SEC Florida Georgia Kentucky Missouri South Carolina Tennessee Vanderbilt Alabama Arkansas Auburn LSU Ole Miss Miss State ATM OU Texas B1G Indiana Maryland Michigan Michigan State Ohio State Penn State Rutgers Illinois Iowa Minnesota Nebraska Northwestern Purdue Wisconsin Southern Cal UCLA What's Left Baylor Iowa State Kansas Kansas State Oklahoma State TCU Texas Tech WVU Arizona Arizona State Cal Colorado Oregon Oregon State Stanford Utah Washington Washington State Boston College Clemson Duke FSU Georgia Tech Louisville Miami UNC NC State Notre Dame Pitt Syracuse UVA VT Wake Forest BYU UCF Cincy Houston
I’m gonna guess a PAC/Big 12 merger of sorts probably makes ND lean more towards joining a conference with the super conference idea fully out of the bag but who knows
wind energy, meat judging, and conference killing. all in a days work for the KanTex StateTech RaidCats
USF refusing to let UCF join the Big East killed that conference. Clearly the Big 12 learned from that mistake.
