It’s only natural to want to see the two teams tied for the most Big XII championships get together again A marquee matchup, if you will.
4 pods of 5 teams 4 Pod games per season Play 2 teams from each of the other pods (one home one away) That's 10 conference games, so you get 2 OOC games
So basically we're going to have a Southern, Northern, and Western giant conferences? I like it honestly. Bump up the amount of conference games to avoid missing opponents. Would have liked 4 big conferences and an 8 team playoff where each conference champion gets a first round bye and then it goes from there Edit: 4 teams getting a bye wouldn't work but at least it'd be automatic bids
Stolen from Redditt thinking this could be a fun exercise. I wonder what petty and irrelevant shit schools are selling to conferences about other schools to get a spot at the table?
if the Pac 12 holds and adds some like MWC teams, I feel like they'd be on the verge of truly losing their power 5 conference status. and at that point, I just can't see how Oregon could happily stay in the conference.
What are Oregon’s options? Assuming BIG and SEC aren’t taking them right now? Stay pat or join the Big 12?
I’m sure they will be courted by someone given their Nike connection. My larger point is the ACC and Pac 12 can seemingly only inflate themselves with low level programs at this point. So not sure what the moves are besides coming together to create some “coastal” conference.
It feels like this all ends with the B1G and SEC having its own playoffs and then a SuperBowl between the winners.
Think it is just a general term for a conference with enough good teams to get a normal playoff bid with an undefeated or potentially one loss.
P5 means autonomy conference aka they can propose and adopt legislation that the G5 leagues can opt into
Name the new PAC/Big 12 the Fuc 12. Figure out what it stands for later. Fields, Utah, Coasts. Just spitballin’
Whatever happens I hope this somehow ends this suffocating SEC/southeastern team domination bullshit in the playoffs. I’m ready for some god damn parity in football again. Sick of watching a school from a dumbass Bible Belt state winning it all.
The SEC just added the winningest team in the BigXII, and also Texas for some reason, so probably that will continue
Is that one of those Twitter accounts that posts every single possible scenario and then deletes the ones that don’t play out?
No. Will probably be some hand-wringing and empty words. Probably break out into the drum circle a bit early and consult the smoke from the ceremonial bong. Probably a bunch of upturned noses at the thoughts of having to mingle with Big 12 type people. They'll be so worried about the cattle rustling and possible Indian attacks that they'll take less money to stay with the Pac which eventually becomes an amalgamation of the MWC and Big Sky Conferences.
