EOF mentioned on the last 755 pod that once Kirby proves he can pitch on back to back days, then he’ll be called up very soon after. Sounds promising
Should be Will Smith but it's probably Stephens. I'm not sure if being off his original deal and added as a minor league free agent affects his options, but he's got only a year of service time prior to this year and had two seasons he went back and forth between AAA and MLB with Cincinnati before he joined Atlanta. "Players typically have three option years, but those who have accrued less than five full seasons (including both the Major and Minors) are eligible for a fourth if their three options have been exhausted already. For the purposes of this rule, spending at least 90 days on an active Major League or Minor League roster during a given season counts as one full season. Players also earn a full season if they spend at least 30 days on an active Major League or Minor League roster AND their active-roster and injured-list time amounts to at least 90 days in a given season." I'm pretty sure we added him to the 40 man and optioned him to Gwinnett to start the year rather than adding him to the 40 man when he was promoted, but I don't remember exactly. I am 70% sure he can be optioned to Gwinnett without being DFAed.
if a player goes missing because he's been kidnapped and held in a dungeon, how does that impact his 40 man status just asking for a friend
Is Trout playing this weekend? Going Saturday and Sunday. And Shohei plays when he’s not pitching. Is that every day or just randomly?
He’s on the IL currently and could possibly be back this weekend I believe. They might give him more time to heal though
simple you just make the trade for 2 PTBNL and then after the WS you name the draft picks wink wink wink
They closed that loop hole also. It used to be that you had to wait a year for the new players to be traded, but teams were using PTBNL to circumvent that rule. Since 2015, the rule is newly drafted players have to wait until the end of the current season instead of a full year, but cannot be named as PTBNL.
ok trade other people with the promise that the angels can trade them back to us after the WS for the draft picks they actually wanted
Ritchie probably goes over. Maier too. Potentially Keller. Then they’ve got a couple day 3 guys that could as well if they try to sign everyone.
SC do you have any good draft breakdown write ups or podcasts that you’d suggest? I want somebody to tell me we did real good ty
I thought the Road To Atlanta guys over at Battery Power did really good podcast breakdowns for each day of the draft. Kiley McDaniel wrote up his team by team draft review this morning and was pretty effusive about the prep RH’ers which were the basis of the class.
Nice to see that the last couple of rounds before Day 3 are still being used to abuse college seniors.
