I always thought a tortle bladesinger would be cool for the AC 17 base, but you probably don't want two tortles in your group
shadar kai are stupid necrotic resistance post-buff trance are elves darkvision perception proficiency bonus action 30 foot teleport pbtpd. after level 3 all damage is resisted after doing it. also fey ancestry which isnt great but is another thing
Also, in my game I'm currently a hill dwarf sorcerer(wild magic) that comes from a clan of ale brewers. Been fun trying to create themed beers and try to sell it around town lol
I'm still plugging along in episode 1 of calamity; but what a delightful setting, and holy shit at that opening
2 completely different styles. Matt better world building and NPC creator. Brennan builds chaos and humor. Matt also tends to run more by the book, Brennan seems to be more likely to say “fuck it” and use rule of cool more than Matt does. Matt runs long form campaigns without clear boundaries, Brennan’s campaigns are capped by episodes and length at the jump. I like Brennan’s style more as well.
This seems like the perfect description of the two. I had no idea who Brennan was before this, but I may have to go look into some of his campaigns and check them out.
Re: FCG Spoiler as always I’m a week behind but we’re going to find out the automaton that the MN awakened in Aeor is the one that is going around and awakening the pre-calamity Aoerian automatons and FCG in particular right?
ive been rewatching c1 recently. its surprising how long they just let orion cast multiple spells per turn even though they were new to 5e considering the live audience and whatnot. also, he's not really THAT bad until ep11. it's not great but he's not super problematic. but refusing to participate in the kvarn fight then dropping the "i just killed him dawg, don't tell me what to do" line when he finally decides to join in is so incredibly cringe.
he has said "and thats the rest of my sorcery points" about 4 times since their last long rest where i'm at currently.
Listening to the calamity wrap up show and it’s really good. Gives a lot more depth to Xerxes character and why he made the choices he did
we did our session zero monday. pretty interesting dynamic as its 4 women, 2 men. very different than what ive done so far. no complaints. party composition: tortle druid fairy druid fairy sorcerer eladrin/dhampir paladin with potential lock multi tabaxi arcane trickster my shadar kai/firbolg mizzium aparatus bastardization of 5e at the end we did a mini encounter. we were on a boat in the astral sea. a large ship approached. mindflayers attacked. we didnt realize we were all there as we were all standing at the helm piloting the ship in astral forms stacked on top of each other. most of the party got cone of cold'd while the sorcerer and i got mega death lasered by the ship. those who got lasered leveled to 3, those who didnt leveled to 2. it was pretty interesting and glimmer first d&d experience. she appears to now be watching CR.
it was my first DnD experience and i’m hooked i plan on going multi into lock after i get to three in paladin so i can get my oathbreaker stuff
in case you dont know: bertrand was a character travis played years ago in a c1 one shot. he was supposed to die way back then but he didnt so he brought him back in c3 to kill him for real.
Spoiler I just assumed that Devexian coming online has caused a ripple effect and others began to awaken. Hadn't even thought that he might personally be doing it.
Yea I have so many curiosities so far that I figured many will be answered in the after show. I wish they had done it weekly, I absolutely love this mini series.
almost done with the orion era. watching it again after years of experience with 5e is pretty hilarious. he would legit cast 3+ spells on his turn then use quicken spell as basically a legendary action. also, they didnt know death save rules but if they had scanlan would have died died vs rimefang.
You can just see Matt’s blood pressure rise in real time. Orion’s final episode Travis is legit mad and at multiple points is just visibly done with it.
Orion didn’t get what dnd is. Instead of collaborative story telling he acted like he was the main character and everyone else was someone in that story.
I’ve liked the characters in C3 and some of the fights/settings have been fun, but not gonna lie, before last night I had no fucking clue what Matt was steering this campaign toward
