Ballsack sports is one of the many places that puts out fake quotes and slaps a picture on there and people run with it. I'm pretty sure that quote didn't happen
Do CBS games for Alabama get shown in NC? I’ve had YouTube TV and it’s always been connected to the Birmingham area but since moving I’m in the Charlotte area. Do Alabama CBS games show there or would I get some bullshit Wake Forest/Duke slugfest
that’s what I thought. Now I guess I’d be more worried about the ESPN games giving me ACC games instead of SEC. but I’ll find some way to work around that.
i saw far more big ten games than i wanted to last season but also i dont remember not being able to find sec games
I think there will be very few games you won't be able to watch. It may be ESPN2/News instead of ESPN but Alabama is rarely not available nationally. Games like Utah State and Louisiana Monroe may be tough.
This is always how I prefer to break it down. A recap by position. It's all about the "personnel" right? QB: Lots of compliments for Bryce today, so many about his work ethic and leadership. He's a Legend. Not many players achieve Legendary status while they have remaining eligibility. Think of that? This fall we will be watching games and BRYCE WILL BE IN THE HEISMAN HOUSE COMMERCIALS. My god. O'Brien was complimentary of both Milroe and Simpson. You know what I look for? Things they don't HAVE to say. What are they going out of their way to say or what compliments are they giving that aren't, for lack of a better word, "necessary"? I felt he really talked up Milroe's improvement for instance. RB: O'Brien in particular moreso than Saban was hugely complimentary of overall talent level. He also didn't seem as quick to praise Gibbs WITHOUT mentioning Jase, Roydell and Trey, too. I think reading between the lines, this is BOB telling us to look for a RB-by-Committee approach. Trying to mix and match each RB's skill to a particular play on the script. WR: Saban basically told us that Burton is our best WR and he acted is if it was a No Contest decision. That's not surprising at all to me but maybe now even what few detractors are left will see it. I think the kid is pretty elite and he made a very smart decision about ...... where can I go that I can really prove how good I am? The comment about Harrell was ... unclear. He described Harrell as "in and out" ... that probably means minor injury but it could also mean off the field stuff. It was just unclear. For now, I am assuming he was talking about his health. BOB seemed to also go out of his way to talk about Ja'Corey Brooks, specifically mentioning him as "being back". Brooks was out for the Spring with injury. TE: BOB acknowledged that Latu is working extremely hard to get back. He seemed to WANT to say more than he did about how good he thinks Latu is. I thought he was about to jump into "What a great player ..." but he diverted and just talked instead about how hard he is working to get back. He of course mentioned Ouzts as the temporary TE1 while Latu rehabs but the only other TE he mentioned by name was Miles Kitselman. We all think of Miles a "juco transfer" but honestly ... Miles redshirted in his one season at Hutch. Thus, he is a freshman. Miles has four years to play four years. OL: I am sure it wasn't intentional but there seemed to be less talk about the OL than any other group. Saban mentioned that Pritchett, the true freshman, tore his pec. That will put him out for a GOOD while. So if you think about it, this is likely an automatic redshirt situation. So that's news though few were predicting him to make a run at a first team tackle spot. DL: I felt arguably the news of the day was Golding raving about Jaheim Oatis. Again, "standard" compliments are to be expected when a coach is asked about any specific player but Golding RAVED about Oatis even basically stating at one point "good luck" if you are trying to block him with one man. It's not logical to assume too much over one statement so let's pencil Jaheim into the first rotation --- but we'd be foolish now to rule that out. That looks strongly in play. Saban mentioned that Hastings showed up hurt and has missed time. Burroughs was a name quickly mentioned by Pete when the interior guys were asked about. That's a thing, for sure. I felt Pete sounded highly encouraged by this group as a whole. OLB: Not too much new ground here. I think we know what we've got. Golding did mention that it's easier to account for one highly talented pass rusher than it is two. He also, again, unprompted, complimented Braswell. So this Spring was not a fluke. We can expect to see a lot of 41 this fall, even with 31 and 15 on the field. ILB: This is Golding's position so you would expect a lot of talk about that spot and there was. Moody must gain consistency. I felt Golding raved about Deonate Lawson to the point that this is clearly a close battle ... this position battle is not for show. Sounds like a legit thing between Lawson and Moody for the Will spot. Golding also, almost shockingly to me, unprompted, complimented Ian Jackson as having very good early practices. He mentioned Campbell, too. DB: More real news here to me. I think I may have underestimated the impact of Ricks' injury on the CB situation. Ricks' shoulder was so bad (I really didn't know the true extent of it) that it affected his ability to practice, work with the team, work in the weight room and LEARN the defense. He's just .... behind. And that has to be frustrating to a kid with that much ability. So really, when you think about it, Khyree and Kool-Aid both have scant experience. True it was on a big stage. But if you think about things in terms of PROVEN PLAYMAKER, if Ricks doesn't win a spot, cornerback looks more paltry than I had previously considered. Hopefully, Ricks catches up and there is good competition for one remaining spot. But heck, Coach Saban even mentioned BRIAN BRANCH as a candidate at cornerback. While BB is a heck of a DB, I am not sure playing man outside is a strength of his. Safety wasn't mentioned much but I think that's because there is such confidence in Battle and Hellams. We know exactly what we've got there and they aren't being moved out by younger players.
