Wrestling is absolutely real life Like, the Democrats’ failure to develop a main eventer since Obama is killing the territory
My point is what makes anyone think he doesn’t want to do that exact same thing again? It’s ludicrous. Of course he does. That’s why he did all the crimes trying to not leave office in the first place.
The logical endpoint of Yang and his ilk's position is that Trump is just forever immune from being prosecuted for any wrongdoing regardless of severity. It's dumb as fuck
I’m not sure that it can’t be both. Trying to overthrow the government to stay in power and not wanting to be president again can both be true he can continue to grift and make money for the last few years before his heart explodes without the requirement of the duties he hated. He still can get up on stage and do the things he likes
Maybe it’s not fair to apply logic to this idiot… If it were notes/transcripts of anything illegal he had done, he would have almost certainly destroyed the material already. The fact that it still exists is a big clue that he had nefarious intentions. Similarly, the comparison between Hilary and Trump is one person was accused of deleting information while the other is accused of keeping information. The distinction between the two accusations is very clear. As is the ability to file charges based on the amount of evidence, which may be conveniently stashed in their own basement.
Hey you could be absolutely right, who knows what's going on in that bag of cats in his head. But I tend to think he can still go to rallies and screech about the "steal" and grift forever without the constant attacks. Plus his greatest asset (Twitter) is no longer available to him. JMO
I liked him when he was first in the Dem primary because he was the one guy talking about diseases of despair and was pushing UBI as a universal program. And was pretty strongly for M4A iirc. Wasn’t my fav candidate but I liked him up there. Fucking hate the heel turn because it always makes me feel like an idiot and extremely skeptical of anyone new going forward. Waiting to feel stupid on Fetterman and Pritzker any day now
you're giving our big beefy boy too much credit with the selling of state secrets stuff. He saw some documents with his beautiful signature on it and wanted to keep them because of how perfect his signature was
am I making it up in my head, but weren’t they just there a few months ago? edit - I was thinking of the liv tournament at his other course. However, I found this article from earlier this year while searching google https://www.inquirer.com/opinion/tr...sified-documents-20220224.html?outputType=amp
I despise disinformation and think it does more harm than good in the long run….BUT…. …..it would be a real shame if a QAnon style rumor broke out that Ivana Trump told the FBI about Donnie selling top secret documents to GY-nuh and was murdered for it like they believe happened to Seth Rich.
Trump is certainly a very stupid, self absorbed, profoundly uncurious person. But he isn't such a drooling moron that he can't understand how to make a sales transaction. I think we tend to think he's dumber than he is because of the way he speaks, particularly in public. The times we see him behind the scenes he's still dumb but he usually has more competence than I expect
Loved the part where he just did what ever he wanted, even if illegal. Hated the part when others told him maybe he shouldn't do so many crimes.
That LIV golf tournament was at one of his courses in New Jersey. Edit: thought it was a course in Florida
The answer to this is painfully simple. You do not rely on consent when searching or seizing items from a home because you do not want to litigate the consent or the scope of the consent later. Also no one would consent to the scope of the search sought by the warrant and to ask before procuring the warrant would tip off the subject of the search. Oh, you want to crack open the super sketchy safe in my office? Go right ahead. A warrant is a thousand times better. You get the warrant, particularly when dealing with a home, all of the time.
>Say all government agencies are corrupt >commit crimes >say corrupt agencies are out to get you >get raided because of crimes >see I told you they were all corrupt
Theres a Politico playbook link that says the warrant was signed by local judges. If Garland wasn’t involved then this starts to feel a bit different.
I was answering honestly when I quoted you earlier. They went to get documents they knew were there. What he took them for and how much trouble he may be in obviously remains to be seen
It would be incredibly stupid and short sighted for that to happen, but to think there's no way that a local official could be that incredibly stupid and short sighted?
I'm guessing he took some that proved his corruption, and took others just because he wanted to. No way he actually had plans for them, he's too dumb.
This has been the overwhelming feeling of dread I've had while simultaneously laughing at all of the clever social media posts. Seeing people dunk on this moment is very fun, but it could also lead down an even darker road if this wasn't done correctly or result in any meaningful outcome.
No. Judges don't work for the DOJ. A "local" federal district court judge is who signed the warrant, but it was brought to the judge by either Main Justice (the DOJ) or a US Attorney's Office (also the DOJ). Garland is the head of the DOJ, and anything of this level would require his approval.
the whole premise of the dispute is that the documents were requested and Trump refused to turn them over. And if the documents get excluded, there is literally no case. Not to mention the procedural issues associated with having an attorney seize evidence subsequent to a consent-based document review with opposing counsel present
Feels like the disgraced ex-president fleeing to his supervillain hideout with the nation's most sensitive documents is actually worse than the fbi raiding his home
Yes that too. It is obvious that Trump was playing games on returning the documents or fully cooperating so I spoke about warrants and homes more generally. Relying on anything other than a warrant when searching a home is a good way to get evidence suppressed. I know you know that but others don’t. Even when exigency says police can enter briefly without warrant (e.g. shooting just happened inside a home and need to sweep for possible victims/suspects) police need to back out of the home and get a warrant after the brief sweep is done before they can actually go about the business of investigating a crime.
Guys - the nuclear codes likely change multiple times a week, if not daily. Trump isn’t hiding some useless codes from January 2020 in his broom closet for the fbi to raid. Now nuclear secrets? Possibly
The combined forces of democrats' consistent ineptitude and Trump's ability to wriggle out of consequences do have me a bit concerned, fellas.
i don’t think garland is an acting judge. Whatever judge oversees that federal district would sign, but garland would have to approve
