Yeah, I mentioned that (that I don't know what I'm talking about). He's got obvious limitations, but Conte obviously loves him and that might have been 3-0 Chelsea if he doesn't score at that moment.
I had to watch this game while entertaining my parents and in-laws and my daughters boyfriend is a Chelsea fan. I was very distracted but pleased with the outcome. For once we got some breaks, but if I was on the other side I would be fuming.
A Chelsea fan in a group chat I’m in is citing, wait for it, Jake Paul’s tweet about how Tuchel would knock out Conte as some kind of evidence that it’s Conte that’s the bitch. I’m absolutely lapping this up.
Hadn’t seen this. Explains a lot. I did notice they were going after Romero the entire game trying to get ahead of him doing it to them.
Romero now has the belief that he is uncardable. He is going to slit someone’s throat on his next start. Someone warn the league office.
Good. It’s a strong yellow if seen, not a red, VAR can’t retrospectively give a yellow. If it had gone the other way, I thought of a great way to make us immune to tackles, no one would dare tussle with us if we signed a full squad of clones of this guy
I wonder if we might go for 1 more signing for the 1st team with GLC and Ndombele getting signed elsewhere. I think the Chelsea game definitely showed we lack a little bit of quality in the squad. I’d still say an attacking midfielder would be the priority. We didn’t have anyone thy could control the ball and move it forward yesterday.
Bissouma would’ve helped greatly in breaking their press and advancing the ball from deeper positions. That’s one of his biggest strengths.
Conte does not use an attacking midfielder. I am surprised this narrative is still going. He is ride or die with creativity coming from the wingbacks. That’s why we have so many and why everyone mentioned gets slotted into that position even though we have so many.
There’s a difference between a 10 and an 8 with better attacking ability then our current group. Conte also changed formations this weekend mid game so he’s clearly not “ride or die” with only one.
Silly. We are two deep everywhere. I’m saying I think we are mostly good. Maybe add one more offensive player and one defender.
Btw, no one cares, but I pissed myself off with my fm22 save. I spent big bucks on Gvardiol in the summer and then two youth prospects for 10m-ish combined in the winter window and then realized near the end of the season (that we finished comfortably third) that I hadn’t triggered Romero or Deki’s loan buys. I begged the board for more money and scrounged together whatever sell-on clause activations I could and got Romero confirmed. Deki’s option was set at 30m. Davinson Sanchez refused the contract offer on his transfer to Newcastle, so I fell 2m short and the loan ended. Once I got a little more sales, I went back to Juve (called Zebre in game) and they asked for 100m. I turned that shit off.
Sending out Reguilon, Ndombele, and Lo Celso, maybe one more (Gil? Rodon regarding non-CL-HG)… I think we’d have one spot. Gotta recheck.
Obviously not ideal, but Davinson has performed well under Conte. Thought to be out 3-4 weeks, so that tracks with him being back for City. Wondering if this also jumpstarts our search for another CB since Lenglet is also likely out another week or two.
