Opinions needed. Lease is up in December and I work remote. What countries would you recommend for a 1-2 month stay?
Hit the travel thread if you don’t get recommendations here. A couple people have done this, post pandemic work remote.
need similar time zone? costa rica Guatemala (specifically Antigua and/or Lake Atitlan) Time zone doesn’t matter? Portugal or Spain
Time zone doesn’t matter. Was thinking a month in Barcelona, Valencia, or Malaga, and then a month in Lisbon to see how it goes.
Gents, how's purdy looking? He was one of the only transfers that I wish would have stayed. Hoping to see him this fall.
Allegedly pushing Casey Thompson for playing time. When you've got a chance to start an undersized QB with thumb problems that went 4-6 last year, you've gotta do it though.
Know several people who are ex-pats in Costa Rica and love it, which is why I mentioned it early. Portugal has great (hot) weather but it’s not much of an upgrade from living somewhere like Arizona tbh. Spain cost of living and space is only concerns, otherwise would be fun. I would rather go to Prague or southern Sweden/Denmark instead of Portugal imo.
Valid points, I’m probably gonna try bouncing around all of 2023, so I’d probably save those Northern European countries until summer
Lol holy shit is this a real thing? https://www.irishtimes.com/sport/20...-notorious-nebraska-cornhuskers-come-to-town/
Part of the reason I don’t really care if Frost is fired or not is because parasites like Brown and Davison will be foisted onto the next staff and keep on impeding progress.
Do we really not know who our starting QB/RB will be? This doesn't sound good. Spoiler: Article LINCOLN — If nothing else, Nebraska’s offense appears to have strength in numbers. Offensive coordinator Mark Whipple, talking to reporters for the last time before the team departs for Ireland, said he feels good about playing three different quarterbacks — Casey Thompson, Chubba Purdy and Logan Smothers are those — and as many as five running backs in game action. The starting quarterback position, Whipple said Thursday, remains in the hands of coach Scott Frost, who has previously said the job is Thompson’s to lose. Whipple has focused more on the mental and emotional approach he wants his quarterbacks to take. The QBs need to care a lot — which they do, Whipple said — while remaining just the right amount of relaxed. “There was a little bit of lull in a practice and they started to get on one another — ‘C’mon, c’mon!’ — and I said ‘look, you guys have worked hard, and it’s been a really good camp.’ And they fought, so I said ‘It reminded me of when I had to call in the plays at the Super Bowl and, I thought, right before, ‘if I screw this play up, I won’t be able to go back to Pittsburgh, because they’ll murder me.’ So those guys can’t — it’s important to them, but they’ve got to relax. It’s that fine line of ‘hey you’ve done well, alright, we’re gonna make mistakes, how are you gonna handle adversity?” NU’s offensive line, Whipple said, has been healthy — Turner Corcoran has returned to practice — and offensive line coach Donovan Raiola has mixed and matched linemen enough to play seven or eight linemen. “I feel good about them,” Whipple said. “We think we have a pretty good defense and we’ve stood up against those guys and made some plays.” Raiola, in a brief chat with the media, said all of his linemen are improving and holding each other accountable. Senior center Trent Hixson, Raiola said, has been ‘calm under fire’ in leading a group. “He overcommunicates well,” Hixson said. “He’s a quiet guy but he knows how to communicate within the group.” Overcommunication, Raiola said, “is a learned behavior” that focuses on making sure every player is on the same page. At running back, Whipple said he feels good about four backs — plus running back/receiver Rahmir Johnson — who “all do different things” at the position. “Gabe (Ervin), Anthony (Grant) and Jaquez (Yant) and Ajay (Allen),” Whipple said when asked about the four backs. “Emmett (Johnson) has come on, and Cooper (Hausmann) has done a good job. I could see all those guys playing.” Whipple asks backs for their favorite run play and tailors the gameplan to their preference. “I’ll say ‘hey, here’s going to be your first run,’ so they know,” Whipple said. “... Same with the quarterbacks. If they had to go into the game, they’d know what the first play would be situationally. So they’ve got confidence.”
I have no doubt that Thompson is starting. I think Whipple answered it that way because they a blanket rule that all questions like that are answered by Frost. As far as RB, I think there are several guys in a group, which doesn’t concern me at that position. We didn’t really expect to have a single workhorse anyway.
I'd make a wager that at the end of the year, we neither have a 2000 yard passer or a 500 yard rusher
Wide Back position gets me excited. Rahmir Johnson, Brody Belt, and Zach Weinmaster. That kind of explosiveness wins championships.
I think of all our transfers, only one isn't a total cast-off, and it's the DB from ASU. The rest of this team is absolute garbage and we'll be lucky to win 3 games
They always try to act like it’s a huge secret every season and think it will matter. Frost said like a week ago that it’s Thompson’s job to lose.
Or, and I mean hear me out here, or... It's because it does not matter who we play because no one stands out because they're all bad. Last year he treated our QB and RB rotation as a big mystery in the pre-season, and it turns out it was because the whole group was just a bag of dicks.
You’re not wrong, but my point is Frost does it every year. I’m not defending him or anything I’m just saying every season the dude acts like he’s Bill Belicheck so why would we expect something different this year. He does it with the depth chart and injuries every season. You said he did it with QBs last year? Was there any doubt Martinez was starting day one? No.
Let’s start this season off right with a loss to Northwestern and a blowout loss at home against Oklahoma.
I’m sure by game 4 Frost will be talking about how that Week 0 game really tired these guys out for the final 2/3 of the season.
Wait a gosh darn minute. Didn’t we go full rhabdo Frosts first year to “whip these boys into shape”? Why 5 years later are we “re-whipping these boys into shape”?
I've got this great image of Benhardt's dumb ass getting lazy Susan'd by a slightly quick DE and showing up just in time to barf on our QB laying on the ground.
