yeah I don’t think anything has been settled yet. But alpine I think has given up on him racing for them and is going after money instead.
next few weeks should be really interesting. It seems Mick is going to be out at HAAS. He and Danny Ric seem like front runners for the Alpine seat. I'd assume DR is favored there since he was just recently there and performed well, but how much of a pay cut is he willing to take. Mick would obviously be much cheaper. It would seem one of Mick/Danny Ric won't have a seat next year.
Consensus is that Haas will move on from Mick after one year? I’d assume the Ferrari academy son of a legend would get more than one year at a bottom pack team?
Schumacher wants out of there so I think its really a matter of who gets the Alpine seat. But Gio looking for a seat also. I can't really see Haas going with Gio over mick but who knows. Steiner did say Mick needs to score more points.
After two And when you have to hold a driver in the pits because you can't afford to have him wreck another car, I think you begin to question how much value a last name actually brings to the table.
Haas is not moving on from Mick. If anything it’s the other way around, and seats are filling up fast.
I don't know what racing you guys have been watching leading up to the break, but Mick had been better than Magnussen going into the break
The race put out a podcast yesterday with some details on it. Said alpine didn’t have an F1 contract with piastri just an option and mclaren offered an actual contract.
I think he's been pretty underwhelming & underperformed... only getting the benefit of doubt because of his name. Stroll, but with a F1 pedigree & a rich daddy.
He’s driving a Haas, and last year they didn’t even try to put out a car that could compete. I don’t understand what some of y’all’s expectations are for him ITT
This is essentially his rookie season with a developing car and he’s been the second driver of the two to get the updates. I can think of two or three races from Miami on where he raced his ass off and bad luck or bad pit calls killed what should’ve been a really good result for him.
yeah i think he has been fine this year. he deserves at least one more year. he must not bring in much money which is a little surprising
I took tons of videos since Aston Martin & Williams were practicing pit stops. Also we rode in the bed of a huge Mercedes truck through the whole track. Don’t know how to post them from my iPhone, though. We have a Q&A with Zhou and Bert Mylander tomorrow.
Are you willing to say what it costs for this access? Prices for this kind of thing in Miami was wild but I'm wondering if its more affordable at more established races overseas. I want to do this in Montreal next year. Awesome photos. Where those McLaren boys at?
We purchased the trophy fan experience. I believe it was $1,600 per person. They have differing tiers as well if you want more or less. I found the whole thing quite reasonable. As you can imagine, you can go as insane as you want. I think the way to go is to do an F1 experience at an established race track. Things like Miami and Vegas are just going to be celebrity circle jerks. All in - including tickets, flights, car rental and an Airbnb - I paid around $3,800. We booked the flights and Airbnb about 9 months out. We are at a great place in the heart of Spa. It’s only 15 minutes from the track and we aren’t staying in an overpriced hotel. This is for Austria 2023 but it’s basically exactly what we are doing. https://f1experiences.com/2023-austrian-grand-prix/trophy
I’m sure there’s a Publix nearby too so we can fist fight over Danny ric sucking and maxs driving style
This game is unhinged. Bahrain done and it averaged almost two passes a lap just between Sainz, Verstappen, and Leclerc. DRS so overpowered. Also Checo passed Max for 3rd two laps from the finish. (Danny Ric P14 after qualifying 15th and Norris P13 after qualifying 10th though, so there are some realistic elements)
Lost in all this content is the potential for Max-charles being 19-20 at the start. Will be amazing seeing them tear up the field but I think others take penalties too
