Not that much different. Just get there slightly earlier to check in at your gate with your passport.
Flown international twice in the last year. Give yourself at least 30 minutes for check in. Always use bridge security and you'll generally get through pretty quickly.
I think they moved pre-check back to the south gate (where the escalator from the train lets off). So you no longer have to rush over to the north gate
it is the 3rd option for security lines. The lines are shorter but there is no pre-check. And you can just walk over to A gate from there. I never use it.
Moved out a year ago for a dream job/city deal, left this March due to CoL and an unfortunate timing for my dog to pass. Wonderful city and even better people. Unless I married rich, there's no way I'd make any progress as a teacher in Denver.
just spent about a week there and everyone is so healthy and happy but I’m wondering how there are so many 20-somethings who can go out all the time while being able to afford to live. my house in omaha is worth about $315k and I could get something similar in Denver for like $750k
it probably isn't easy for these people to make it happen, but I assume there are some sacrifices young professionals make to move to Denver in hopes of later affording a home.
This happened last night on WB 70 by Northfield. The driver that got shot was 31 and died. Fucking insane.
Worth posting in the cars are dangerous thread. Road rage homicides are embarrassingly American. Too many guns, too many cars Edit: I guess the car was stolen
Cool town. I went when my BFF lived in Denver. We went for NYE so it was kinda a weird time. Obviously skiing is elite in winter, but we also did the hot springs which was fun. I seem to recall kids were allowed, but not after dark b/c they were open kinda late. Had a shuttle that picked us up from our AirBnB, took us to hot spring then dropped us back off. Was maybe $20ish per person for a set time slot. We did dinner at https://www.8thstreetsteakhouse.com/ which I found hilarious, it's a grill you own steak place where you get to pick out a piece of meat and grill it over this massive communal grill. Unlimited salad bar, a bit kitschy but it was the only place we could get in on NYE. Walking around downtown is neat, lots of shop and small little restuarants/breweries/etc.
Mine got sent to my old address, so now I'm going to have to spend a billion hours trying to get the old check cancelled and new one sent out.
Are there crickets downtown? Been hearing them every night in Cheesman area. Sound just like BFE, Alabama. Google was not helpful.
I don't think I get a refund from the state since I didn't start working here until last October. Sad.
Has anybody golfed Evergreen? What a beautiful little course that is cheap and well maintained out by the red rocks.
Weird weather stopping by on Saturday. seeing the haze yesterday made me grateful we haven’t had too many bad fires this year. Odd question, but has anyone had good success with a particular maid/cleaning service out here? Would love a good rec
I know nothing about buying a house, but is it even possible around here at like $3k a month? Lease is up in December and it’s going up to $2650, feel like I should buy a house, but commitment scares me.
that's about where I am in North Park Hill. It might even be more possible as the market has dipped slightly. I actually know people selling a pretty nice house in Harvey Park for 600k or so. But only 2BR / 2 BA.
id probably only be able to put $10k down. Single, been paying my loans heavy, so not a lot of free cash at the moment. would be open for heading closer to the mountains but I’m assuming that’s drastically more expensive. I work remote so commuting isn’t an issue
if single, I'd say you have more options. Obviously, the more you can save for the down payment the better.
You’re gonna be looking at an FHA loan with that little down. Which is fine, but you’ll have to pay a mortgage insurance fee monthly.
Will be in Denver in a couple of weeks for Tyler Childers at Red Rocks. Hiking recommendations? I realize we will probably have to drive at least an hour. Also any other fun outdoor activities to do in or near the city?
You can definitely hike in Boulder (royal arch) or evergreen (good for wildlife). Or you could drive a little further and do something like Herman gulch. Just plan to do it on a weekday or early in the morning to avoid crowds, especially at royal arch
Three sisters is a pretty neat easy hike. Staunton ranch is my favorite and a little more challenging. Red rocks has a nice payoff, but it got a little hot for me without much tree cover.
